Josip Ilicic linked again today in the Italian press - attacking midfielder, strong, busy player, tall and got a hell of a peg on him. Slovenian international. I like the sound of this one.

Yes, yes, yes...

Not a rumour, but just saw on the BBC that Smalling and Darmian are likely to be available in January. Both 26 with CL and International experience. Would have them here in a heartbeat to freshen up the defence.

Smailling maybe

But Darmian is only just a slight upgrade of De Laet.  Much better going forward than he is at defending

Leicester City are hot on the tail of Red Bull Leipzig's Naby Keita.

The midfield dynamo has been part of the team that has enjoyed a storming start to their Bundesliga campaign.

And the Guinea international has been at the heart of it.

That has not gone unnoticed at the King Power Stadium as the Foxes try to plug the gap left by N'Golo Kante's £32m switch to Chelsea.

Keita does not have quite the same defensive discipline as Kante but makes up for it at the other end of the pitch.

Think it would be nigh-on impossible to sign anyone from Leipzig. With the Red Bull funding they are well on their way to becoming a European super power. Current strategy is to buy the best young talent in Europe and form a team round them.

Given the success of RB in other sports like F1 I expect they'll be a major player like PSG within the next 5-10 years.

Liverpool have been linked with a move for ANOTHER Southampton star.

This time it's the turn of full-back Sam McQueen, as the Sun report that the Reds will duke it out with Leicester for the 21-year-old who has impressed for Saints recently after being drafted into the first team.

With only 18 months left on his contract there are doubts over his future on the south coast, while Liverpool are actively on the look-out for a new left-back following Alberto Moreno's struggles this season.

McQueen has played in Saints last four games owing to a defensive injury crisis and has received rave reviews for his impressive performances.
