theessexfox Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 Disappointed with him yesterday especially first half, the number of times he (and others) were ridiculously slow to get back onside from an offside position was just lazy and unacceptable. When the ball broke to Slimani with the chance to break and Vardy just jogged next to him, I was wondering where on earth Vardy of the last 3 years had gone, although he put a bit more work in second half.

Stevosevic Posted 19 October 2016 Posted 19 October 2016 I thought he looked sharper on Tuesday night.
foxy boxing Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 needs to get back the right attitude and application which made him so good last season, it's no good resting on his laurels because people notice and he finds it hard to take criticism especially after all the praise from last season. things change and he needs to be proactive instead of reactive
Wymsey Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Certainly thought he was trying more harder than in recent league appearances. Perhaps he thinks he's answered his critics on his PL potential and now changes his priority to European competitions?
Blizzard Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 Vardy was never going to be able to maintain that strike rate or work rate. He doesnt run like he did last season, and he has far less shots. That said he has a target on his back and he has been neutralised by defences. Put two defenders on him, and he's no threat. At best I would have given him one or two more seasons. His role in the team has changed. The dynamic of the team has changed, since Slimani arrived its obvious the team chemistry has changed. I would say that Vardy has one eye on becoming a Celebrity these days, and the money it offers, that's the direction he is obviously moving, he will be in the jungle soon with all the other celebs. His performances perhaps reflect that, the money has definitely changed him.

There was a moment last night in front of the east stand where he had the ball on the wing with a defender in front of him. Last season he would have knocked it past and sprinted past him, last night he ran with the ball and ran it straight out of play. Maybe the red bull is catching up with him too much of that shit can't really be that good for you or his head is elsewhere his book his house or maybe just learning to play with a new strike partner?? Either way I think one goal will open the gates for him for his confidence and I really hope that's at home this Saturday with our superb fan support behind him and the lads just need to sort our away form out now tho !! 'Leicester City Champions of England 2015/16 who knows what 2916/17 will hold for us in the Champions League dare to dream ? We all did once before and proved our doubters wrong Onwards And Upwards And in Claudio We Trust !!

4everfox Posted 20 October 2016 Posted 20 October 2016 I'd drop him to the bench for a few games personally and bring Okazaki in to the team in his place. It's blatantly clear that the ball over the top won't be anywhere near as effective this season so we would be better off attacking via the flanks and a byline cross for Slimani to get on the end of. With Okazaki sitting behind doing his usual tireless pressing to help out the midfield I reckon it would work better then having a pace merchant like Vardy on the pitch when every team we play against sits deep.
Bayfox Posted 21 October 2016 Posted 21 October 2016 A penny. Ffs I paid 15 quid at the airport for them and apart from the cambiasso opinion and a bit on how he met his now wife, the real story behind his family and his version of the casino event. They wasn't a lot of thought in there.
weller54 Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 So that's 11 games without a goal.. What has happened to Vardy this season? Conspiracy theories welcome....

Started the season slowly and less hungry because of his book and fat paycheck. Now he seems to genuinely be out of form but trying. Teams know how to deal with him now though, so when his service is Huth thinking he is Pirlo and smashing it out for a goalkick then he wont get many chances.
Rialto 290352 Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Certainly it does not help that the service to Vardy is consistently poor. Accurate balls out of defence for him to run onto are hardly seen now. Partly the loss of Kante but also, perhaps, that Drinkwater has been asked to undertake more than was the case last season? The midfield needs one powerful defensive midfielder who can also deliver long attacking passes accurately. Overall we are not creating enough chances and are defending excessively compared to last season.
Freeman's Wharfer Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Certainly seems to be playing with less intensity. Feels to me like England have ruined him a little bit. As if someone's started telling him about conserving energy and not closing down all the time. His lack of yellow cards tells a huge story - usually he'd have a more than couple by this stage of the season for catching defenders late or mouthing off because he's up for the fight.
AKCJ Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 I'd be worried if he didn't look interested. He'll be fine, when he gets his first then he won't stop.
Ted Maul Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 He needs to work his way back into form. Chase down the lost causes, run the channels, make the lung-bursting runs which he was synonymous with over the last few seasons. Forget conserving energy- we've got the firepower to replace him when he's knackered. I'd rather have 65 minutes of the rabid maniac Vardy and 25 minutes of Ulloa than 90 minutes of the player Vardy is trying to be this season.

Fox 4 Life Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 The service has been terrible, that pass from Mahrez last night which would have been a guaranteed goal was just plain awful. Last season Drinky and Mahrez were playing absolutely perfect balls through multiple times per game, neither have been doing that this season. It will happen as he is a great finisher, we just need to get our rhythm back which I hope will happen in the next run of games which are very favourable. I also don't think Claudio changing the team and formation every week is helping anyone, I get we have more games but I am almost looking forward to the champs league break so we can kick on and stop changing things. The lads look lost in the first half of every game!
ARM1968 Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 Great strikers don't get neutralised every game. His attitude is currently off for some reason. Needs to step it up and remember what got him where he is.

Also, in the past I've always been willing to overlook his slightly theatrical attempts for penalties but I thought his effort last night was desperate and embarrassing.
WigstonWanderer Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 The link up between Mahrez and Vardy from last season is all but absent. Remember the one where Mahrez had the ball, and Vardy pointed to where he wanted it just behind the defender, and he volleyed it in. Great days!
Ric Flair Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 His first touch is like it was the first season he joined us, he'd worked so hard to improve that which he did and now it's as bad as it ever was. He never gets it under control quickly, which is probably now the difference we're seeing in his ability to get and convert chances.
ithuriel Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 The game he was dropped to the bench at home, we looked a better team. What ever the reason, he hardly puts in the same effort as the previous two seasons and looks to be pacing himself and conserving energy. Either age is catching up to him or he is holding himself back for some reason, either way, I'd be surprised if he manages more than ten goals this season and he can forget his England place at this rate.

Dropped to the bench for one game was not enough. He needs a real shock don't even have him on the bench for two games. Then have him as a sub for three games. As for his England place that's long gone imo. He needs to get back to basic's and do what he is paid for. Fvck the books and films off Jamie and score some fvckin goals for the club that made you. And do it before the fans turn on you.
AyewJoking Posted 3 November 2016 Posted 3 November 2016 some quality service and he'll get 3/4 actual goal scoring opportunities every game. whilst our service continues to be so horrible its not worth him playing.
