Tuna Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 No pizza tonight but a huge, huge win. Thought Kingy was excellent, if only he can keep up that level of performance the position is his own. Removing Albrighton was a great move, no aimless hoofs up front, so much better to watch. Musa took his goal well, it's obvious what Shinji brings to the team and how badly he's missed when he doesn't play. Good move from The Don. As an added bonus, it's always great to see that monumental cnut Pardew beaten.

King had a good game but it's not like I'm the only one who've been critical of him. Have a look at the Chelsea League Cup thread and ratings, and a lot of people were on his back. He's had a string of anonymous performances. Today he was good though. So fair play to him.
Koke Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Speaking of Okazaki, it should be Slimani/Okazaki forward line in the coming weeks. Definitely against Tottenham next week.
Dr The Singh Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 King had a awful, average game, I watched him today, on one occasion I saw him give up, on the 83rd minute....this for me is not acceptable, they nearly scored from his lack of effort. It showed his lack of desire, and his indecisiveness. Offered very little on the attacking sense and first half was a shadow.

Sionnach gorm Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Though I think the team plays poorly when Vardy's on, (long ball and all) I don't blame him. I believe Vardy needs to play...we just need to change the mentality first.
desertfox2 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Kind of surreal that we Leicester City can have a player like Vardy on the bench. We are massive...
Matt Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Was anyone shouting for Musa to pass on his first goal? I wasn't shouting out loud but i'm head I was screaming pass, pass, pass! Bit like when Vardy scored v West Brom away in the great escape season!
The Doctor Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Most normal goal shinji has ever scored for us? Clear yet again that's he's integral to this side.

Thought we played well but Palace had some decent chances too. Zaha looks frightening sometimes butcwe dealt well with him. Still not sure about the Slimani + other combo yet. Musa I felt was poor barring his goal but hope that gets him going. Still aren't overly impressed with Amarthey. Shinji's is just brilliant and you have to love him. Kingys done a good solid job coming in. Good decision by the Boss to drop Vards n Albrighton. All in all a good game and great result. Happy days How did you judge Amartey properly on s few minutes? If you had judged Shinji on the opening 5 minutes, he too with his miss would have not been overly impressive.
Kendal Fox Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Happy days! Just what we needed to stop the rot for the moment at least! Glad to see Musa get off the mark. Hopefully will have done his confidence the world of good and he can start to build momentum from here on in, in the PL. Likewise, Shinji scoring will also have given him a much needed personal boost, regardless of Ranieri being conservative with him. If given another starting chance, he needs to do the same of course... Most importantly we got the 3 points, which feels massive at the moment.

I think he will come good eventually, but doesn't look a world beater like "he who should not be named'!!!
Marshall Cockney Fox Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Tactics were a big improvement today. We worked the ball up the pitch and looked far more fluid. Personnel made a difference, but having depth and variety meant we could dispense with the hoof ball.
adam Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Decent display. Not sure what all the time wasting is about though Especially by our keeper. Hanging on for a three one in the last five mins was pretty poor and very negative and took the shine off the match for me. Okazaki still needs to stay on his feet. If he played for anyone else we would all be calling him a cheat.
Sampson Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 10 minutes ago, Dr The Singh said: ????wtf you on about. I was absolutely livid with his display!! Unless you can say different......that was awful by him!! He had the most passes of any of our players (even Drinkwater) and as many forward and key passes as anyone on our side too. He broke up Palace's attacks several times, he was excellent. Did the simple things very well and never disappeared (as he's sometimes unfairly accused of). He was always at the forefront of our midfield today and do tangly involved in a positive attempts from both an attacking and defensive point of view. There was one one-two with Slimani I can think of especially that was breathtaking.
Ted Maul Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Brilliant performance and result, ripped them to shreds at times. Not quite as assured at the back as last season, but going forward that's pretty much as good as we can be. All of a sudden we've had a good start- difficult away run almost over, midtable and 100% in the champions league. Up the City.
Dan Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Was a lot more assured when the team was announced. Ranieri's got it wrong a few times this season but for me today I couldn't knock him. I totally agreed with Okazaki in for Vardy. It's quite clear to me Vardy & Slimani don't work effectively as a partnership yet and that we massively miss Okazaki when he isn't there. Vardy also looked a lot sharper today when he came on. I think as well for all Musa has been a bit disappointing so far, there is something there with him and I was quite glad to see him get a go in his actual position, because there's no way the bloke's a striker. I thought he was quite hit and miss, but he'll get better with time. Great for him to score too as he doesn't seem like he's that confident to me. It was written for Fuchs to score today as well, and what a goal too. Very good win, much improved performance, let off a couple of times by their poor finishing but it's hard to not be more encouraged after that showing. Bring on the best team in the world next weekend.
sdb Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Much more like it. - shinji is so important to us. Especially against 5 man midfields. Great showing. - Kasper is having a serious season - back 4 still not fully convincing. We give away too many chances, especially at set pieces - we should get Kante to dress up as Andy King every time Chelsea have a day off. Great performance today. - why did we play 433 with no one at left wing for 10 mins in the second half? - Fuchs goal amazing - Fuchs' celebration with shinji possibly the best thing I've ever seen bar us winning the league

ARM1968 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Said we'd win. We won. Not a new dawn yet I'm afraid, more a faint ray of light glinting through the clouds. New dawns fade anyway.
foxinsocks Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I dont rate king in the prem... he is too lightweight However... he put in a good effort today and the boy did good We are short on quality in cm It is good thay he is at top of his game.....

Guest CityFan 06 Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 Great win today, important 3pts and just what we needed. Nice for the two who came into the side Musa & Okazaki, to get on the scoresheet - Good tactical work from Ranieri there. I think today illustrated just how key Okazaki is to our side, we've said it before. He definitely needs to be implemented regularly in the XI for me, as he demonstrated again today his excellent link up play between the forward line and midfield, his attacking/defensive work rate and his energy, and of course netting today. Schmeichel, Simpson, Fuchs, King, Mahrez, Musa and Okazaki all stand out performers. Although that could probably go for the whole side, a very pleasing result and overall team performance. Palace are a good side and that was proven today, they started the game well and were on the front foot in certain stages of the game. They were probably a little unlucky to concede three goals, but we were very good today. Their fans were some of the better lot to come to our place, numbers and noise.
kingfox Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 That's what we're capable of when we get the ball down and play... Fair play to Palace they had some good spells, first half they started well, from 10-20 mins they were the better side in my opinion. Mahrez then came centrally, we started to control the game and it made all the difference. We got the ball down, the link up play was fantastic and we created chances. Second half was similar, thought Palace started the half better, but when we managed to gain some control and scored our second we looked dominant. Palace finished the game strong but luckily the game was done & dusted by then. As for performances, only one man deserves MOTM and that's Shinji. Fantastic work rate, fantastic link up play and a nice goal. Musa got better as the game went on, that goal gave him confidence and he seemed to play better, the problem is that he's too lightweight at times, he'll improve on that like Mahrez did. King I thought did another good job defensively, while Kasper pulled off some key saves. Very good stuff going forward, but of course we must keep it up, Claudio has some tough decisions to make for Spurs away.
