I believe that the team prior to this game were under instructions to try and hit it in behind at every opportunity but todays game proved that we can play some seriously good stuff if we play calmer. The team can't be set out to benefit Jamie Vardy anymore - Jamie Vardy needs to set out to benefit the team and go back to his pressing ways of old (I believe this is 50-50 between Vards and Ranieri for blame).

Played some really nice stuff going forward. Disappointed we didn't get the clean sheet, players clearly switched off a bit after the third.
MC Prussian Posted 22 October 2016 Posted 22 October 2016 I liked the way we were set up and our defense, albeit still looking somewhat suspicious and prone to the odd error, was better and more composed. The whole LCFC first team appearance today had an air of no-nonsense about it in all areas. Okazaki and Musa paid the trust back with two vital and well-deserved goals and I'm particularly glad for Fuchs for his first goal ever for the club and the first since Schalke away at Real Madrid. I do hope this is also a healthy reminder for both Vardy and Albrighton that they need to step up their game and stop living off past reputation. Drinkwater and King in the middle worked surprisingly fine, Slimani tracked back a lot (kudos to his workrate again) and Mahrez played better, fresher and with more swagger going forward. Although his finishing was a bit of a letdown, in particular with that one shot straight at Mandanda. But what else is there to say? Deserved win, great game, improved energy levels and precision, more teamwork, better work ethic... This reminded me of what we're truly capable of playing. Just like last season. More of this to come, please.

I'm glad Okazaki finally made the starting line up, he's been in good form since the beginning of the season and waiting to be played for weeks now and hopefully Vards time on the bench will do him some good. Also Fuchs goal was epic... as was his goal celebration with Shinji
