Least Enjoyable Season?

Recommended Posts

I have found this season to be the least enjoyable as a Leicester fan for quite some time. (yes I was there in League One and Championship days)

Last season we were obviously spoilt, it was a whirlwind, it was simply unique.

This season, I don't look forward to games, I don't celebrate goals in the same way. Somehow it just doesn't mean as much anymore.

Results and performances have been a factor, but I think this season was always going to disappoint.

Brugge away apart, I've found the Champions League to be a bit of a letdown. We had a glorified Europa League group.

I kind of just want it all to end.

Anyone else feel similar?

05-08 seasons were worse. We everyone else had us favourites to go up but we knew were we'd end up. Plus the Craig Levein team makes our current lot look like Barcelona.

the season we went down with Peter Taylor and our first season back in the premier league with Nigel Pearson (until the great escape).

seemed like we were turning up knowing we'd lose.

a bit like how this season is shaping up:cry:

Yep... been saying it for months.

Can't even be arsed to watch games or post on here... which I'm sure some see as a blessing. :D

With that.... I'm off again.

Yes and no, I get what you mean, the CL has been enjoyable for me, Brugge away was class and I enjoyed Porto at home, full house the CL music etc, I wasn't here for Copenhagen so I'm looking forward to Tuesday.

But the league form has been terrible, to sum it up.

I think this season was always gonna be a strange one, 1, because last season spoilt us and it was never going to be replicated, and 2 because for how great the high was and we all enjoyed what was a fantastic ride, we don't know how to deal with the success, us City fans just aren't use to it, we survived on the underdog mentality, and knowing every now and again we would upset a big boy, last year it was that feeling on acid, now we can't even turn up and give teams a game, I don't think that has helped, the fall from grace so far as been huge.

I want us to do as well as we can in the CL but I get your point, if we make the next round, part of me wants a huge club so I can say I went to see Leicester City at Madrid, Barca, Munich etc.

I will always be grateful for last season, but I do think it was the biggest High, one that can just never be replicated, and now Boro at home doesn't seem that appealing in a way, I nearly bailed on doing Watford on saturday, and in hindsight I wish I had, not because I didn't enjoy my day and love supporting my club, but because I got far to drunk to compensate for the loss and felt like shit all day yesterday lol

Struggle to see how a fan of football can just switch off like that myself but there we are, assuming they were actually a fan of the game and not just a fan of Leicester City, yes there was always going to be a come down but football moves on. It's better now, honestly don't care what happens so can just enjoy watching the football.

EDIT: And as far as the least enjoyable season goes very far from the mark, I find looking forward to Tuesday and rocking up at the Walkers as it was then known knowing Plymouth were not only that afternoons visitors, but favs to win (and win they did) totally incomparable

It's not the least enjoyable, I mean we've had three Champions League wins (albeit not great games). We've had some truly shocking seasons that have been far worse than this.

The difference this time is that we entered it in a totally unprecedented mindset and with expectations of defending something we never thought we'd see. In isolation this is no worse than many other Premier League seasons we've had but they've never followed something so major.

I would probably say it's one of the most disappointing away seasons so far given how solid we were and how flimsy we look now. But it can, and I do believe it will, get better.

It's been more entertaining than the Sousa/Sven and Sven/Pearson seasons. The Knocky vs. Forest and Great Escape seasons were pretty rubbish in places too - they're remembered more fondly because they ended dramatically. We are in the Champions League and the FA Cup hasn't even started yet (for us at least), this season still has plenty of potential - just got to readjust to our usual top flight pattern of not winning every week.

If people find this the least enjoyable season following Leicester then that is enough for me to to declare them clinically insane.

And if you want it all to end then stop going?

Part of me is seeing this title win as a curse. Another part of me see's all of this madness as confirmation that our fans just aren't as passionate as football fans from other parts of the country.

For those of you that are suffering from depression because we have lost a few games, Google the phone no. for Samaritans. They will help you out.

Assuming they dont hang up on you as I guess they are extremely busy fielding calls from Leicester fans at the moment

Let's hope we find some form before the FA Cup, cuz if we get Wycombe i think we maybe cursed lol time to fly the budda's back in.

2004-2008 was unbelievably poor and sad. Every home game I went knowing we'd lose - especially if we were playing Preston or Burnley. Sat though too many 0-1 away wins... We could have been relegated before we were.

I enjoyed every season under Pearson, especially the League One season despite the fact we were playing at our lowest ever level.

Last season was obviously the best ever - I went to 14 away games and saw us lose once lol - but it's poor at the minute. Even our style of play is very poor and ultimately our performances  have been as bad as our results... All the way down to Watford to see us concede 30 seconds in, horrid.

It's  not a curse I still grin like an idiot when I think we won the fvcking league, mental, and this season is just proving how mental it was.

WE WON THE LEAGUE!!!!

This isn't the least enjoyable season by a long shot, 04-08 were just awful,  we are unbeaten in the Champions League, hold up, WE ARE IN THE CHAMPIONS LEAGUE.

Crazy.

What is making this season less enjoyable is coming on here and seeing the reaction of Leicester fans, it's why I haven't bothered so much, and not being on here means I'm not thinking and chatting about football anywhere near as much. Still looking forward to Tuesday and seeing the boys in blue turn it around.

The pleat and Taylor times are probably the least enjoyable times at the club, and going bust after Taylor wasted money was shite as well.

Well for me anyway.

Much like the players, I can only seem to get myself up for CL games at the moment. I've been travelling far to see LCFC games consistently for the last 8/9 years but suddenly struggling to get myself up for going to games. Been to every home CL game and going Porto away, but not been to an away game this season and been to only half the home games despite having a ST.

It's a mix of being able to watch every game on a stream without the 240 mile round trip, and the come down from last season I think. Winning the Prem was always a pipe dream that would never happen in my lifetime (I'm 22). There isn't ever going to be a moment that beats that unless we win the CL.

Very strange as this time last season I'd find it difficult to miss a game.

This has been disappointing but at least we've got European trips. This is nothing compared to 2011/12. It was over by October and the atmosphere was appalling.

we have had worse seasons, but of the back of winning the premier league this season has been such a letdown and disappointment apart from the European campaign. our defence of the title has been woeful and everyone now assumes that we were a one hit wonder

Good news is it's almost Christmas and I've asked Santa to Skip the Buddhist monks and just haul the Dalai Lama over himself.  He can start by whipping Morgan with them beads & incense sticks cuz I swear he's cursed his playing so bad!

I'm enjoying our moments in the champions league because it or than likely  never happen again! Yes it's not great to watch but I just stand and take it all in! Better than being sent down to league one anyway! When we was struggling to beat Scunthorpe at home

They'd probably be more likely to moan about the Tunisian guy in the background who hasn't worked for months whilst living in the UK.
