lgfualol Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 Chilwell will take and keep his spot any game now. Puel is king.

You still love her, but she’s just not as attractive as when you first met. P.S. nothing would please me more than to see Fuchs back to his dynamic and brilliant best. But I won’t hold my breath.. What, even if he grows a few spare tyres and his tits become a bit saggy?

winteriscoming Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 I like chilwell but think he would be better as a wing back or left winger. I think chilwell is suspect defensively hes better going foward. I do think fuchs is struggling and has done for a while. I'm sure well get a lb in january.

If we’re looking at getting an attacking left-back Rico Henry from Brentford looks decent. He’s picked up quite a few injuries for a young lad though.

It’s plain to see he looks slower, is making more mistakes and is getting frustrated with himself. I’ve always been his biggest fan but he’s doing more harm than good this season imo Exactly this. Loved him and his game but he's been a terrible defender for well over a year, going back to the end of our title winning season, he can still put in a great throw and the odd good cross but his defence has been poor for a long while and his attack is declining too. I can't believe any newspaper gave him motm at any time in a long time. He gambles badly on defence and gets caught out several times a game and fast wingers just kill him. Unsworth made a terrible mistake taking Lenoon off yesterday. He had the beating of Fuchs everytime. I was as worried as hell whenever he was needed in a defensive capacity. 1 hour ago, winteriscoming said: I like chilwell but think he would be better as a wing back or left winger. I think Chilwell will make a great wing back but I'm happier with him as LB than midfield or winger. What's great is that he has a wonderful symbiosis with Gray and they cover and attack well together. Really think the two of them could take the prem by storm. It's partnerships and understanding like that which undoes oppositions. It's time to move on from Fuchs I just hope Puel does that rather than play Chilwell in midfield. He doesn't know the position and Fuchs will become complacent knowing that Chilwell is there to cover for him. LB and RB upgrades and we will be looking dangerous again.
Farrington fox Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 Fuchs was very lucky to have not given away a penalty with that reckless challenge yesterday, was definitely a pen. He can be clumsy at times.

KingsX Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 Most of the squad appears to have gained confidence lately against less rugged competition. If anything Fuchs is looking worse to me. Surprisingly, he is 8th in the PL in interceptions (22) so the numbers are not all dire. Whatever else he contributes in the next year and a half, he should try to teach the mechanics of his long throw to the coaches and others in the squad.

Either not the required level to defend his position properly or too lazy - probably a bit of both tbh.
surrifox Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 This guy is a true club legend . One of the best signings we've ever made and a very key component of the title win
Jimmy Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 this Chilwell can't defend thing is becoming as big a myth as the "Kasper has great distribution" line. Yes Chilwell needs to improve in that area but that's the same for any young player, he is far better and far closer to Fuchs then some want to admit, I really do think they are about the same level defensively now, but 1 will only get worse and 1 will only get better so I know which I would play most weeks
Chico1958 Posted 30 October 2017 Posted 30 October 2017 I like Fuchs so he's ok with me............. Let the Manager Manage If he thinks someone could do better then so be it Four or Five weeks ago it was Morgan Now we have another scapegoat to take aim at,
UPinCarolina Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Fuchs will almost certainly go on to become a commentator or media figure within the sport, somewhere in the English speaking world.
davieG Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Seems Sky rate Fuchs the highest out of the Leicester Squad so far this season. I've not thought he'd been as bad as some on here think judging from the match ratings. http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11096/11106741/manchester-city-dominate-sky-sports-premier-league-power-rankings
dedlock Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Fuchs has been a consistent performer since he arrived. Before he signed there were regular concerns about the lack of a decent left back. Those concerns were resolved with Fuchs recruitment. We are also fortunate that Chilwell has come through the academy and we rejected Liverpool ‘s advances. He looks to be a good prospect. Fuchs has made it clear that he will be moving to the States when his contract ends. We are fortunate to have an experienced LB and an up and coming successor.
AlloverthefloorYesNdidi Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Fuchs has a touch of class that not many of our players have. Still a very important player for us this season
SemperEadem Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Came across as really down to earth friendly guy when he met with some Bochum lads who were over for this game last weekend.
Sol thewall Bamba Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Is he the best free signing in the history of the club? (Academy doesn't count.)

Cambiasso wasn't too shabby but was here for just a season. Fuchs helped win the league, get us to the UCL quarter finals and keeps us in stitches with his social media antics.

But I would argue Fuchs edges it for the reasons you mentioned.
Sampson Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 He's still got his part to play. Just as Okazaki, Albrighton and Huth do. He's out of form atm and I'm fine with giving Chilwell a run in the side right now, but much too early to start calling him past it or over the hill.
Stadt Posted 31 October 2017 Posted 31 October 2017 Defensively he’s deteriorating, of course he can still do a job but he’s getting worse and I’m not sold on Chilwell’s defensive ability as he’s dribbled past far too often but sooner rather than later Fuchs needs to be phased out. I can’t see Puel wanting two offensively anaemic fullbacks and Chilwell’s our only fullback that’s shown that he can offer something consistently (Amartey may do one day) in the final third.
nwl fox Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 15 minutes ago, Gerbold said: Deteriorating or going through a bad patch? Like I stated previously - it's all too easy to focus on a player and predict his demise on the basis of a patchy run of games. Phased out! Well, like anything to do with City neither you nor I will have any say in how the team is run. But, I guess if Puel runs his eye through this thread he'll take note of all our individual opinions and act accordingly. Next time you have a bad day at work I trust you'll nip along to the boss's office and inform him (or her) that you need to be phased out. I love Fuchs, but to suggest its just a bad patch is glossing over it. For me its been fairly obvious that his capability has been deteriorating over the past 12 months, thats more than just a patchy run of games. We definitely need to have an alternative plan in place by end of this season and it would be short-sighted not to have that in mind now, whether they believe Chillwell will develop the defensive side of his game sufficiently to cover that, I'm not sure.
dmayne7 Posted 1 November 2017 Posted 1 November 2017 He had a run of games before Claudio got sacked where he put in probably the worst collection of performances I can remember seeing from any Leicester player. Bounced back well from that though but seems to be struggling again. People talk about Chilwell being suspect defensively but he's ok. Lot of work to do for sure but he's only going to improve if he's given the game time. Personally, I think there's not much to choose between the 2 of them and given Chilwell's potential, I think he's ahead of Fuchs now.
