meh, just don’t get it. ticket prices, prices of kits if you want one etc yeah that’s where “money in the modern game” and pisses fans off but i don’t watch kevin de bruyne make his own assist of the season competition or leroy sane rinse the 5th man of his mazy run to score and think “oh god no, didn’t he cost more than burnley could spend on john walters?!” i just think fu cking hell this is sensational football.

I never have and never will get people giving a shit about how much money a club has spent. May aswell just enjoy the ride and great football until everyone goes bust and we're back to the poverty football of the 50s, 60s etc

Whilst Utd look way off City and Mourinho doesn't look quite the man he was we must remember they are second in the league, above the mighty Klopp and the world beating Spurs team.  He has life in him yet and has somehow still been the second best team in the league.  We'll see what happens next season, I think it should be closer overall.  With regards to Man City.  They truly have been a joy to watch.  Well done to them.  X

He isn't even world class in whining department he's lacking behind Wenger, Hughes and most definitely pique in that department.

Like I said, the conversation when he loses is all about mourinho. Love him or hate him it's smart it's mind games. After the Burnley game you had all the puel out lot still calling for his head and the people that wanting him to stay pointing out it was a poor finishing from our players and that's not puels fault, it's the players fault.

So a day later, Man Utd lose to bottom of the league, 3 wins all season prior to kick off West Brom. After the game all the talk is on mourinho. How he handed city the title and disecting how he was wrong and how he made mistakes. When in reality his players had more than enough chances to put the game to bed before West Brom scored. Nobody is blaming the players nobody is talking about their failings it's all on mourinho.

The players get off free because everyone is talking about mourinho. There's instantly less pressure there. He is one of the best football managers in the world. Easily. He's popular with people that meet him away from football, because he has a persona in front of the media and he does what he has to do to ease the pressure or motivate his players. As did Fergie. Who to many, is the best ever.

Ok I get it , you like him and I don't, comme ci comme ca.

It's not a case of like or dislike I just respect him as one of the best managers in world football. Because he is. I don't like guardiola either but he's a ****ing good manager.

least it wasnt just me thinking there was a lack of celebration from the Man City fans, probably more at one pub in Leicester than there at the Etihad after the Utd result

guess the whole winning the league thing means more to us than them I suppose....

I don't quite get the criticism Man City fans are getting to be honest.

When Aguero's shot hit the net, their first league championship since 68. They went nuts and the party lasted days. They have been Champions elect for months, so there's no spark for such scenes. The other big clubs don't go nuts in the immediate of winning a league.

yeah, and they obviously didn’t think they’d win it. and manchester is pretty big there was probably a lot of decent scenes around the whole area. and the etihad isn’t exactly in town, or really by a great deal.

why would you be in your local boozer, drunk and celebrating winning the league and think oh aye let’s go to the ground it’ll only take 40 minutes on the tram and we can just stand around for a bit then get the tram back and carry on drinking.

Exactly, Man City winning it after a Man Utd loss would have been massive for them. The pubs will have been packed with people watching it just like ours were. They’ve spent a fortune and have had it all but sealed for a while now but I’m sure it didn’t mean any less to them than it did to us.

There's currently a poll on BBC asking who the best Champions were of a few good stories. We're 3rd behind current Man City team and the Arsenal invincibles. Maybe I'm biased but I'm not seeing that lol

very hard to rate the “best” imo.

we were the best story by a mile but nowhere near the best team, let’s be honest. the invincibles is probably the best achievement. but the last two weeks seems to have people forgetting how good man city have been.

let’s not forget some of the football they played from august to january. most games won in a row, a sequence of results that went 5-0, 0-6, 5-0, 0-1 & 7-2 in the space of a month ffs, including beating last year’s champions. they have had a ridiculous season.

Well done to Man City and they played some real nice footie along the way. Glad Mourinho's anti-football with some of the most expensive players in the world hasn't paid off this season.

Also kudos to Burnley for their sheer determination to grind out results. Maybe they will actually take their european tour seriously and not bow out to some rather unknown team from Bulgaria or Slovenia...

Its rather funny that we had years of dreaming of Premier League midtable obscurity and when we finally get it, it feels really meh... Well guess thats the price for the 2016 football miracle.

i think mid table boringness would feel meh with or without anything else that’s happened in the last 10 years. doubt fans of bournemouth or watford or everton have been buzzing about much this season, it’s not just us.

It's basically a poll of the most memorable team. Man U didn't have many dramatic title wins but they were dominant over good Arsenal teams. I bet out of all the Man U teams most people would name the treble team because that's who you remember.

I dunno, I know Manchester is big but if it was Man Utd that had won it like that you can almost guarantee the celebrations would've been a lot better than those of Man City's fans yesterday. In their defence I guess most of them would've expected United to win - but this was a Sunday afternoon where you'd expect a large percentage to not be at work or whatever. Not a Monday night like us, the place was absolutely rammed within 40 minutes of the final whistle.

I think our celebrations for winning the championship eclipsed what we seen from Man City yesterday.

You are probably right. We have also been 'blessed' with promotion and relegation battles nearly every season since the League One Tour, so it obviously feels anti-climatic when we finally end up in this mid table boringness. I just remember being proper jealous at Fulham and Bolton back in the 00s for just hanging around with the big boys.

I've haven't been following Guardiola's tactics but this is a great video and article about it https://www.theguardian.com/football/2018/apr/16/tactics-pep-guardiola-manchester-city-title His main tactic is the distribution and movement of players into the twenty zones which gives every player at least two passing options. The players must then be fantastic on the ball and be very aware of the other players in the zones. I'm not entirely sure I understand the part about being between the centre halves and full backs, however, except that it gives your midfield space by preventing their defense from moving into the midfield but that hardly seems revolutionary.

Who actually got fewer points than our title-winning team ;)

Love the analysis from Gary Neville about Raheem Sterling on Sky Sports there.

He does a great job doesn't he. Really enjoyable

If stoke drop, I’d happily take Martins Indi as a Wes type gradual replacement. Always impresses me when I see him. No nonense type. Like that in a CB.

I'm hoping Stoke beat West Ham

a) To keep the relegation scrap alive

b) To watch their fans turn again

I expect West Ham to win, though.
