Dan Posted 23 September 2018 Posted 23 September 2018 Maybe he really was just the right fit for us. 1
m4DD0gg Posted 24 September 2018 Posted 24 September 2018 To think some of the clowns on here would have him back at Leicester. Shudder to think whats happening with the youth on loan there. 1

dayday Posted 24 September 2018 Posted 24 September 2018 100 Leuven fans skipped the first 13 minutes against Roeselare in protest of the current transfer policy and also calling for Pearson to be sacked. Looks like Pearson is on borrowed time.
ozleicester Posted 24 September 2018 Posted 24 September 2018 sometimes i get confused if im in the Leuven thread or the Puel out thread
Popular Post Rob1742 Posted 24 September 2018 Popular Post Posted 24 September 2018 I just hope he is okay personally. I think he struggled with the pressure at Leicester, and I think most people would. He created a group ethic so strong we won the Premier League. That was his group, his mentality he put on that, and all through it you saw the pressure that he was under. He had times that he really struggled with it, he created a siege mentality, he lived it and at times it just boiled over. Then as you have that something special, it is taken away from you when you are sacked for protecting your son. Then you watch what you have created win something that you don’t get any credit for. Its obvious it took a lot out of him as he ended up in Belgium. You only do that if you want a way out of the cauldron. I am only guessing on this one, but I would think he has a lot to deal with in his head and I really hope he is okay with it all. For me I wouldn’t be alright. If I created that and saw others benefit from it and the prize was so big, I honestly would struggle with that. It would be like losing a winning lottery ticket, but worse as it was your life, it wasn’t just by chance, he worked and built it. I have every respect for Nigel, he created something very very special, and I would never want him to be sacked or suffer downfall. He was a great manager for us and I wish him well, but I really do worry for him based on what has happened and how he has dealt with things in the past. 8 1 1

I am 200% convinced, that had Pearson stayed at Leicester, that he would not have won the league. I'm sure he played his role in forming the team, the spirit, the atmosphere, but frankly the guy is a bit clueless when it comes to tactics and strategy. We've had managers like this in the past as well (Van Geneugden comes to mind). All about team spirit, mentality, effort... and this can work for a team that can afford to sit back and wait it out, a team for which every point is golden, or when the opposition isn't really talented. But as soon the other team is on par and when you can't afford to sit back, but have to take control of the game, it all starts to crumble, it comes tumbling down into a chaotic mess. Nobody knows what to do and you get caught with your pants down. 11

mad biker Posted 24 September 2018 Posted 24 September 2018 Wrong indeed, 200% is not enough ! it`s 1000% certain Pearson wouldn`t have led us to the title the blokes a complete Dick !! 2
Dahnsouff Posted 24 September 2018 Posted 24 September 2018 No-one polarises opinion quite like Saint Nige/NFP (delete as appropriate) (Not even Big Dan or Gray)

You basically want to have Ranieri as your manager, Pearson as your head coach, Shakespeare as assistant coach and Walsh as chief scout.

Popular Post Lambert09 Posted 24 September 2018 Popular Post Posted 24 September 2018 I honestly think people who claim Pearson would have won the league are devaluing what we achieved. It makes it sound like it was easy, that anyone could have done it with our squad. It truly is a laughable idea. Yes he put the foundations in place but in a game of fine margins the slightest change of approach and we may have not even finished in the top half of the table. Claudio absolutely bossed it, both are legends... end of the argument really. 9

I’m happy to take the piss out of the Pearson cult and the idea that one magical guy is the best option for every different situation. Yet I never thought this would end in anything but promotion and the re-establishment of his career. Football always proves that assumptions are dangerous, and still we make them. I’m still hopeful it will work out, Great Escape-style. But then I am also hopeful Andy King will get back into the squad ...
Guest Posted 24 September 2018 Posted 24 September 2018 I think it's fair to say that the Belgian supporters have lost that Leuven feeling, oh that leuven feeling towards NP It's gone gone gone, he can't go on.
lgfualol Posted 24 September 2018 Posted 24 September 2018 We should get him back to work the club shop and stadium tours. Could you imagine how tense the atmosphere would be?

He took us up from the 3rd tier to the Premier League and assembled our title winning squad. Hence the loyalty to him in here. Just because he's making a pig's ear of the job at OHL doesn't change how fantastic a job he did in both spells at Leicester, he's a legend here. 4 2
