Nalis Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Its probably the only gameweek where Friday night fixtures actually work out for the better.
Ted Maul Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Can't complain at no Sunday/Monday fixtures at all really. I couldn't do Arsenal that weekend so I'm glad that's on TV, and I'm a big fan of the 5:30 kick-offs- an afternoon at the pub, then straight into town after. Bring it on!
Fox92 Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Shite. Gunna have to either finish early or take a day off work. But at least it's not Sunday. Friday night for a season opener. Sod that
Kitchandro Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 You can be on the lash all day for 2 of those, 3 for me as I'll be in between jobs.
StanSP Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 didn't like the last time we started off the season first...
Sammy Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Compare a Friday night in London to a Saturday morning in Hull.. know which one I'm happier about
filbertway Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Nice, night on the lash to dull the pain of us getting spanked!
SpacedX Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 "We're opening the season (live on TV)" Did that last year....how did that go?
Livid Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Could have been worse, I detest Sunday 4pm and Monday Night Football.
TAFKA Castroneves Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 While it's not ideal we can view it from another perspective that - because of it being a night game it could raise the teams performance levels, remind them of the champions league, make the tie feel important. If Arsenal get off a bit slow i'd fancy us to give us a game in those circumstances. How lovely would it be to do them 4-0 we could derail their season before it really gets started. I'm feeling remarkably positive about this, must be the sun

DJ Barry Hammond Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 God, this forum will be both unbearable and required viewing over that weekend.

theadmans Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 I'm actually delighted with this. Going on holiday on Saturday and can't get the keys for our holiday cottage until 3pm on the Saturday. I had visions of getting there and having an argument with the wife about not helping with unpacking so I could watch the footie !
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 I read somewhere she quit the show because she was getting too much shit from spurs fans on twitter after her 'proper bottle job' comment.Damn.

rn9013 Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 I would rather have a Friday night game than a 4pm Sunday or MNF game. Much better for most supporters I'd say
Matt Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 I've no reason to moan about this but I want to. As others have said it doesn't sit right being a Friday night and I think being the 'opening fixture' last season has scarred me abit aswell. Pissed off Man Utd away has been moved and find the Liverpool game being moved abit boring.
CosbehFox Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Friday nights are far better idea than a lot of the televised times, provided the travel distances are reasonable and transport is available (which tbh could be touch and go with Arsenal away)
st albans fox Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 given that sanchez only just finished playing this week, is it reasonable to assume he wont be match fit for this game. for that reason alone, I hope he stays which means they wont be signing a replacement who probably would feature.
m4DD0gg Posted 6 July 2017 Posted 6 July 2017 Oh that will be good, great for the travelling fans getting down to london on friday pm in the traffic and horrendous trains and great for the arm chair fan to watch us get butt raped in front of the cameras.
