Champions League 2017/18

I really admire the way Liverpool play but this it’s unprofessional to concede those 2 goals.

They must be kicking themselves that they’ll finish behind such a poor Man Utd side but it’s not hard to see why.

They should still go through mind.

Seems odd to say that Liverpool are better than Barcelona - but they're certainly more equipped to go Rome and counter. Roma were fantastic on that infamous night, but Barca were awful too. Would be hugely surprised if Liverpool didn't see it through and perhaps even win on the night too.

It has been nice to see one of the less fashionable European sides, in recent years anyway, make a go of it this year and break up the monotony of Barca, Real, Bayern etc.

They'll go through fine. Fully expect them to score in Rome.

Those two goals in 10 minutes are why they won't win it though. Would be funny if they did do it and Arsenal won the Europa. That'd shut a lot of people up for a while.

Defending from Lovren for the first Roma goal was pathetic.

Should have been a formality for Liverpool but they've made it a little bit harder for themselves now.

Still expect them to go through though.

Klopp has dropped a right rickett there. Takes off his main man with 20 minutes left and brings on a bloke who wouldn't get into Coventry City's side.

All he he did was galvanise Roma. Take him off at 88 mins, but not that early.

Ever since the 1970 World Cup when we took off Charlton, I have always hated managers taking off the best player - sends a message to the opposition that you think the game is over. We will cruise in from here, you're rubbish, but in reality you just surrender the initiative.

Liverpool should still be ok, but Klopp  has just shown he is nowhere near being a top manager.

To be fair he has shown that for last 4 or 5 years

I can see what you're saying but 5-0 up with 20 minutes to go, regardless who you bring on, you don't expect to concede twice. Both goals avoidable anyway but this is when you expect your defence to stand up and be counted.

To be fair, we don‘t know why Klopp took Salah off the pitch.

The two late goals against surely must‘ve hurt, but the first was was down to a massive defensive error and the second a nice gift by the referee (ball to hand, no penalty).

At least it makes the return leg a more interesting affair. Liverpool can‘t lie back now.
