If we're saying there are mitigating circumstances for Shakespeare in terms of transfers then we have to say the same about Koeman. Is it his fault Lukaku wasn't replaced? Not necessarily, and that was clearly a huge problem. Not the only one I'm sure. I think there are worse candidates about and maybe the better ones aren't interested. I'd prefer him to Puel (excruciatingly boring), Coleman (shit), Allardyce (anyone who actually likes football should have pure hatred for the man) and Pardew (do me a favour). Koeman is around the level of Dyche. I wouldn't be exactly pleased but I'd be open minded about their potential. As I said in another thread though, it would be nice if someone at the club had the knowledge to appoint a less obvious name - someone 'gettable' but with talent.

Blue Ed Posted 23 October 2017 Posted 23 October 2017 So he is the manager that took Southampton to 7th and 6th place in the 2 years that he was there. and in his 1st season as Everton Manager took them to 6th. I know in the last 9 games Everton have been awful but I don't think that makes him a bad manager things have just gone a bit wrong after loosing Lakaku in the summer. Perhaps based on his longer term record he's a manager to take us to a consistant level and challenge for Europe.

Funny how Koeman gets the blame for the transfer market dealings and not the messiah Steve Walsh who a lot of Everton fans are blaming for their transfer dealings. Look at the comparisons we were after both Keane and Siggudson. Walsh is not free of blame here. As for Koeman don't like him as a person arrogant Dutchman but his previous record in the premier league suggests he is a good manager.

We need to concentrate on how to see these off next week on top of kicking Leeds out of the cup with a strong team.

Koeman was excellent for them last season they just royally screwed up their transfer approach this summer.

Everton have never been this consistent top 7/8 you speak of

Matt Posted 23 October 2017 Posted 23 October 2017 He makes the list look a little bit better now, although I wouldn't be too excited about him but he did a good job at Southampton Genuinely don't know who I want this time, I normally have a name, an opinion but this time i'm stumped, I don't know where we're going and more than anything like I keep saying - Whoever we get, aslong as Rudkin is employed it doesn't really matter because they are working with their hands tied. Saying that we could kill two birds with one stone as @MPH has suggested, I like that idea alot!

Imo pochentino and koeman are the best managers in the prem. Amazing that everton fans think dyche will do a better job than koeman. Truth is it will turn arround for them.... koeman would have been better long term. They are crazy. Comparison with us is that none if us believed shakey was right for the long tetm
