Innovindil Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Everton really are shite. Not a bad performance from us, but definitely helped by them being so poor tbh.
Guest Col city fan Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Got to be honest, that was easy. We took the two goal lead and defended resolutely. They never looked like scoring. The situation at Everton is nothing short of scandalous. What was it? 160 + million in the summer spent..to churn out rubbish like that! They will have to watch it...they look every bit a relegation side.
spacemunky Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Great result. Gray with his best match so far.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Great first half of the first half. Real attacking intent and Gray was a great catalyst. Unfortunately, we lost our way for much of the rest, sat back too much and were tad fortunate that Everton were toothless and largely clueless. So excellent result and very pleased at that but much work to do, especially midfield wise. We have makings of good squad.
Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 That's what we all knew Demi can do and what we've been waiting for from him. Thought he was outstanding. Thought Chilwell was worth a mention too, played very well but tired a little.
dayday Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Tactically spot on, shocked at the starting 11, was this Puels decision? If it was very courageous and fair play to him.
NotTheMarketLeader Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 The attacking team selection won the game for us. Thats why Shakey could mot make it work. Swimming against the tide is very difficult. The first goal is so so important. Start attacking you are more likely to score a goal, when that happens everything is stacked in your favour. An obvious statement of course, but one that Shakey didn’t get.
Max Wall Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Love how happy Vardy looks in the aftermatch interview.
Relocated Fox Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Anyone complaining about the second half needs to get a grip. That was a good home win and the job was completed in the second half. Delighted for Puel to get a first win and hopefully shut a few negative people up who weren't even going to give the guy a chance! BLUE ARMY!

Farrington fox Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Very satisfying result. Second half though was instantly forgettable. Don’t understand really why they didn’t push on. Would only have needed them to have got a fluke goal and we would have been in trouble.
st albans fox Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Once they adjusted their tactics to cover our formation it was pretty boring but the game was won by then. Next home game will be a tad tougher !
Chico1958 Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Great first half not so sure about the second Would have liked to see a bit more going forward
FoxinNotts Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 People always say, judge your start to the season after 10 games...

The game was actually won in the first half and we just controlled our defensive play in the second. That was the most organised i've seen us play this season.
Bossman Blessed It Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Attacking in the first half an hour reminded me of the title winning season. Real gusto and a really interesting system that Everton couldn't cope with. I think it's a tad naive to expect the same in the second half against a team as desperate for points as Everton - given the quality of their squad too. Thought we managed the game really well and defended with a lot more concentration in the second half. We've had a pretty good week by all accounts it seems.
Tuna Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 If anyone wants a laugh the Everton grandoldteam forum is in full Chernobyl mode right now.
mozartfox Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Most of the credit should go to our DoF - Top Man. Well done Claude as well
