Swarles Barkley Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 How bloody good was ndidi though. Absolutely everywhere
cityfanlee23 Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 First half we were class, 2nd half we were okay but I think even in the 2nd half we were far more organised, we were dropping back to 6 at the back at times and at others seeing Ndidi and Iborra stepping into a CB position when needed. We were far improved and you could see the simple changes working well. If this is only the start of Puels improvement, long may it continue.

Tielemans63 Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 On a side note.....I bloody love Thierry Henry. Great pundit and very knowledgeable.

Wasn’t impressed coming off either, thought he’d take Chilwell off and put Mahrez back on the wing but didn’t. Good point well made, I believe with a player as gifted as he is, for the good of the team he should be played to his strengths.
jayfox26 Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Anyone remember when Everton fans thought they could sign Mahrez, Vardy and Kasper ?????
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Lets not get too carried away here... positives for sure, they’re clear to everyone here. But this is a poor Everton side, with a caretaker manager who’s been given a difficult hand and I felt the game hinged on some key moments where Everton were as poor as we were brilliant. I do like the formation shift, allowing for it to be both 3 at the back or our dependable 442 when we want it - but it’d be interesting to see that match up against a properly functioning side.
Chester Dontlie Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 First 30 minutes were a joy to watch. If Gray keeps on like this, he'll keep Albrighton away from the first team. The kid was simply fantastic. Vince was very untidy today, hopefully it's still some rust he has to shake off. Ndidi, Wes and Simpson very good. Fuchs shocking for most of the game but turned up near the end. Chills a bit headless at times but he put the effort in. I think CP got the subs spot on, I'm especially glad he subbed Mahrez who should look in the mirror instead of shaking his head in disbelief like a fuching primadonna... Granted he had an assist but was bang average and for every good decision made two stupid ones. Overall a good game, exciting first half reminded me of the title winning season while the second a bit underwhelming when we couldn't string a couple of passes together but well done for holding out and clean sheet. COYL!!!
Legend_in_blue Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 With a little more tactical nous, getting the mentality right and building on this game today, we'll do fine. It's all about the mentality - the system looks after itself once that's right.
knitro Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Good, praising read: http://www.football365.com/news/leicesters-marriage-of-convenience-starts-with-the-honeymoon
Kitchandro Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Everton offered nothing at either end. We'll have bigger tests. But we can be pleased for now.
Monsell1976 Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Organised is the first thoughts post match, which has been missing this season. Finally gray has took his chance, motm for me. Positives all round for me, second half was dull, but after a good first half, a very professional performance second half. The manager has had a good start, against poor opposition, glad I support city and not Everton, as they really do have big problems, probably the worst side down here this season.
MrSpaM Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Really can't moan about that. Second half wasn't pretty but we defended well so who cares. Clean sheet and a win, happy days
katieakita Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 A professional performance and a comfortable win, brave team selection that won us the game. For the knockers do you remember the saves Kasper made, me neither, we did what we had to no need to push for a 3rd and risk conceding. Onwards and upwards
foxinsocks Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Worrying that we didnt react to their changes in tge second half. It they had scored 1 then they may well have got 2. We dont have to change personel necessarily. But surely pull ryhad back into mid field for 29 mins
brucey Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Everton badly need a striker. If we're going with one upfront we'll have about four strikers spare. Think Musa would be an improvement over whatever they have there?
Nigel Graham Pearson Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Just remembered Sigurdsson came on for them. Didn’t notice him at all.
AS78UK Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Thought it was a very good performance all round. The first goal was epic, just what I want to see our side doing. Puel deserves credit for giving Gray and Chillwell a chance and giving Mahrez some more freedom to play. It all worked well out this time, will see what type of manager he is after a few more games. Only depressing thing for me was that Gray didn't seem to join in the celebrations with Mahrez and Vardy for the first goal and they kept there distance when Gray was celebrating his goal. Hopefully I am just reading more into it then what it is there.
pSinatra Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Great first half & a defensively solid second. Tactically, Unsworth got that about as wrong as he possibly could. He might want to play the 'Everton way' (whatever that is?) & on the front foot, but they simply don't have a team capable of doing it. They'd have been better off digging in, parking the bus & shithousing some kind of result. Happy for Puel, following some undeserved criticism.
The Guvnor Posted 29 October 2017 Posted 29 October 2017 Job done , battered them first half and soaked up their possesion second half. Demarai had his opportunity today and Motm says it all, would like to see Riyad keep the no 10 role, too early to cast judgment on the Manager but a perfect start.
