foxinsocks Posted 30 November 2017 Posted 30 November 2017 I would like the singha on tap to be working in b3. It's been off and all since they went to draught. Lets go back to bottles. ... at least the kids can serve it quickly

However - to suggest fixtures haven't been kind to them would be completely naïve. They've played 6 out of the bottom 8. At home. It's November. For contrast we've played 2. Again - they've done brilliantly to pick up points at Chelsea (They faced 10 men for 90% of the game and 9 men for 10% of it), Spurs and Liverpool (where they faced a combined 63 shots). On the other hand, we've played away games at Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City, Tottenham, Everton, Southampton and Bournemouth, and lost only 1. W4 D2 L1. And it's away that we play you on Saturday. Should be a good game - just don't expect lots of long balls (not from us, anyway) or parking the bus. Burnley isn't the same side as last year. Stats can be deceptive. Yes, it's clear from the Sky Sport stats that we faced 63 shots, 14 on target, in our away games at Spurs and Pool, conceding 2 goals, while you restricted the same opposition to only 41 shots, 12 on target, and 4 goals in your two home games. But if the "clear cut chances" stat means anything - and I have my doubts! they had 5 clear-cut chances between them against you, only 1 against us. Blocked shots: 11 against you; 29 against us. That's what our defence leads the league in - getting in the way. A useful attribute.
vanity Posted 30 November 2017 Posted 30 November 2017 Bit shocked at the odds -- Leicester 8/11, Burnley 4/1? As consistent as they've been? They played some lock-down defense on an Arsenal side I seriously doubt we could hold to just a last second penalty goal at KP. They are playing some very confident football, they look better with the extra midfielder as they move away from a 4-4-2, they pass the ball MUCH better this season, they've kept six clean sheets already despite playing most of the top teams already, very precisely organized, very difficult to breakdown, road draws against both Tottenham and Liverpool, 1-1 apiece, road wins against Chelsea and Everton... As a former bookmaker myself over here in the States, I tend to trust the book when I see a line that seems a bit high... I take those odds as a positive sign for us.
urban.spaceman Posted 30 November 2017 Posted 30 November 2017 Got the day off from work. Still a couple of hundred tickets left. Should I go?
Dr The Singh Posted 30 November 2017 Posted 30 November 2017 It's going to be a dull, close match....looks like a draw to me
An Away Move Posted 30 November 2017 Posted 30 November 2017 Market leaders out of the two. I think we're going to win handsomely.

Stevosevic Posted 30 November 2017 Posted 30 November 2017 Odds of a Burnley win are very good considering their form. On that as a softener!
Tuna Posted 1 December 2017 Posted 1 December 2017 I haven't really seen much of Burnley this season, they've barely been on the telly, but have their tactics this season been dissected yet? Are they simply parking the bus and nicking a goal before a backs to the wall job closing out a 1-0?

They were just under 3/1 to beat Bournemouth. Fvck knows why. Ill be having a tenner on them on those odds
maddog Posted 1 December 2017 Posted 1 December 2017 Easy win, 3-0. We'll swat them away like a fly, regardless of their position in the table. They'll tumble a lot lower than this peak in their club's history right now.

KingsX Posted 1 December 2017 Posted 1 December 2017 http://www.goal.com/story/the-burnley-miracle/index.html I'm well in the mood to piss on a miracle.

Ted Maul Posted 1 December 2017 Posted 1 December 2017 I think the game will be won in the middle of the park- Iborra & Ndidi vs Defour & Cork- testament to both clubs' recent change in styles.
les-tah Posted 1 December 2017 Posted 1 December 2017 I dont remember this ever being an easy game since the championship

I certainly wouldn’t be backing us at 8/11 in a three horse race which it is taking in the draw possibly. I am obviously pleased to see that we are the Market Leaders for a game against Burnley.
Guest Posted 1 December 2017 Posted 1 December 2017 City at home against non top6 team. Leicester win.

Guest MattP Posted 1 December 2017 Posted 1 December 2017 Burnley have done exceptionally well but they are in a false position, no way do they finish sixth. It's a game I fully expect us to win.
