Well, the birthday charm appears to be working! It was my Son's birthday on Tuesday and mine Today. Currently phoning around to see who has a birthday in my extended family next Saturday... ;)

3 points the main thing at this juncture and despite the lone goal, we really started to come on and showed some great play in the 2nd half.

The proverbial and literal game of two halves. In the first we weren't great. I liked that we kept trying to play football, but it broke down through some sloppy passing. We were fortunate to score and fortunate Brady went off who was delivering great crosses in for them. Honestly if we came in at half time and it was 1-0 to them you would not have been surprised.

But Second half we just got better and better. We actually played some really nice stuff and Mahrez started turning it on. Really we should have got a few more and the only time they threatened was when we over committed and got caught on the counter attack. What I liked is that rather than retreating more and more into our own half we just kept getting hold of the ball and not letting them have it, which is very unlike us, but a pleasing change.

The result is not that impressive, but if you compare this type of result from Puel to similar ones from Shakespeare, the difference is that even when it's not going our way we don't just resort to endless hoofing and try to put some passes together. And that is a very good change. The more we play this way the better we will get at it, and Puel may bring in one or two to fit into what he's trying to achieve and we have the technically very good Siva waiting in the wings.

But for fox sake, the corner takers need to stay back for an hour every day next week! They just kept delivering them into their Goalkeeper's hands over and over!

Easily could've and probably should've gotten more. But all in all a good performance. Need to get corners sorted out. Pretty abysmal in that area.

Outside the top six there's no one playing better, and if we keep in step with an in form Everton, and pull back five points from Watford and Burnley, then we could have another race with our friends Spurs!

Great result against a team that has proved to  be very hard to beat this season. They preserved their energy in the first half and really went for it in the second. 2 wins in 4 days adds up to a  satisfying week ahead at work. The only negative was the quality of the corner kicks but hey....who cares when they win.

This was as exhilarating as Spurs for me because we played so much confident, beautiful football in the second half.  Puel is already unlocking the quality in many of our players.

Probably need to temper that realizing Burnley were knackered after playing Wednesday, and as solid as their XI is, they had zilch to replace Brady with.  They will likely prove out as another good midtable team without a lot of true depth.  The fact that we are gradually adding depth should help put us above that category, especially with a manager who is not afraid to rotate selections to suit the opponent.

As others have said you can definitely see the Puel influence taking effect and is was also nice to get a clean sheet. My only gripes were the corner takers and felt Shinji sub should have been a bit sooner but that’s  just splitting hairs

Although the corners were obviously not that good their keeper did look really solid tbf. He absolutely dominated every time a cross came in

Tbf, their keeper looks a really good prospect.

There ya go.....

I like Puel. He don't say much on his interviews but he is no mug.

Tactically we are miles above where we were under Shakespeare

Fuching MILES. And not only that, it doesn't seem to me to be strictly tactical -- players are improving. Ndidi looks much more comfortable on the ball. Chilwell is ranging forward and attacking with confidence. Maguire has grown more consistent in his performances. Simpson is playing in areas of the pitch I didn't think he knew were there before. Everyone is making good decisions with the ball, and that second half, we kept attacking into stoppage, which is precisely what we should be doing, yet I don't think I have seen us that aggressive with a lead in a game since... IDK, probably before Claudio? Probably the best second half I have seen us play since the second leg of AM?

FFS, Puel has managed to get Mahrez defending and giving complete effort for the whole game even.

I thought Burnley clearly had the better of us first half, but we kicked their asses the entire second half. Puel looks to be an epic hire, and Leicester looks ready to challenge for the top-7, having beaten two top-7 sides back-to-back. Newcastle away is winnable if we play like this.

The one thing that worries me a bit, Kasper looks to have lost a bit of confidence this season, and it looks to be impacting his decision-making. He is a step slow at times, less certain in his movement, looks to be overthinking IMO, hopefully this clean sheet will help start him getting right.

That was a pretty complete performance. We looked good in all phases of the game, with perhaps the exception being our corners. Mahrez and Gray were brilliant. Albrighton and Vardy worked their asses off.

Good win although should have at least got two. A clean sheet is just what we need too.

Burnley are a decent team and can see why they have done well this year. We still didn't defend well against set pieces though.

Don't get why Puel makes subs so late but hey ho least we saw the game out.

Chilwell showing again why he should be a starter.

9th now...Let's go to Newcastle for a win not to settle for a draw!
