filbertway Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 Maguire on for benny. Vardy on for Nacho or Slim

That was clinical We know his finishing is good, he proved that at Man City. But yes a very well taken goal. Problem is the rest of his all round game needs a lot of work. They do say though that composure in front of goal is something that can’t be taught and this kid has it even if he has nothing else ?.

Webbo Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 It's been a pretty crap half, nobody's really impressed. Now we've got the goal though I reckon we'll get another 2 this half.

Are there many players who are "all round" players at 21?.... nope But if someone has that finishing ability its not a stretch to imagine you could train the rest of their game up around it. Such pessimism is a bit ridiculous
foxfanazer Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 I don’t often feel bad for the opposition when we’re winning but I have to admit that Fleetwood deserve more

We always have been and always will be about players who put a shift in, even if the quality is lacking slightly.... he just angers me, got a first touch like he’s got bricks for feet!
FoxFossil Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 How long before Benny gets another yellow and off?
Charl91 Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 (edited) Just a poor man's Yakubu. (Nicely taken goal though) Edited 16 January 2018 by Charl91

I think he’s done well coming deep to link the play. Usually Okazaki is the one doing this and Iheanacho has done a decent job providing a similar option for our midfield. Yeah the attacks been very slow but at least he’s finally showing some footballing intelligence.

We also beat Spurs, Burnley, Everton and drew with united. Losing to Man City is hardly a crime. Only bad one was Palace. Hardy the results of a team who can't play at home.
ajthefox Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 Iheanacho is the next Yakubu. "All he does is score goals." 1

The Doctor Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 1 minute ago, Corky said: Is it worth risking Maguire? I'm really undecided. It's hopefully 45 minutes vs 30 odd when Benny inevitably gets sent off because in addition to being unable to pass, he can't tackle. Or, amartey to cb and albrighton at rb to bomb forward.
copunk Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 Poor first half, silva looks like he's gonna be a big player for us though
Wakeyfox Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 What do the dots under nachos name on the back of his shirt mean? Is it one for each goal this season? 1
dooflip Posted 16 January 2018 Posted 16 January 2018 Maybe the public statement from puel saying he wants iheanacho has made a difference, maybe not. But hopefully that goal will give Kelechi a much needed boost, and a shade of confidence to carry forward. we’ve not been great, but let’s not forget the FA cup against lowly opposition is a completely different challenge. i remember travelling to Hereford years ago and we were shite etc etc I know there’s more examples than that. typically we cannot penetrate teams that throw men behind the ball, but we have done here, which for me is a huge positive.

As I said to Babylon, why be pessimistic about that? Simpson has good positioning and whatnot, learned over time. He couldnt hit a barn door scoring wise though. All Nacho has to do is add basics to that god given finishing ability and you cant go far wrong
