Ricardo Pereira

Leicester shouldn’t be taken for granted financially. We are more than capable of spending £30m on a top right back. It’s long over due and should of been done the season after the title. With Ben arfa on a free, Roberts in the mahrez deal plus £50m/£60m from mahrez, Evans on the cheap we then have a ball playing centre half to play alongside Maguire, a top right back, creative flair and money left over for anything else

This.

I can see us spending 30m on him for sure.

i would offer 20 mill upfront and if he turns out to be a key player say after 100 appearances then pay a further 17.5 mill

What we will actually do is just possibly just pay the release clause and amortise the payments over 3-5 years, like every other club do.

We won’t pay anything close to what they want

someone else will though

Why do you think this?

He has one year left on his deal and is adamant he won't be signing another one. Porto have to sell really and there aren't many clubs who can afford him and many of the ones that can afford him wouldn't want him.

Few players are worth 37.5M with only one year left on their contract.  We need a quality RB so badly, it wouldn't be bad business to pay a bit over the odds and get it done early.  But still need to finance the player's new contract.  25M sounds a fair (and hardly cheap) price.

Porto would be fine in negotiating Ricardo Pereira next summer. With youngster Diogo Dalot doing well in the chances he’s had, the club feel fine in having him as a successor to the 24-year-old.

Meanwhile, Pereira’s sale has been planned quietly by the Dragons. First by increasing his release clause from €25m to €37.5m. Then by secretly buying another 8% of his rights, now owning 88%.

Record doesn’t set a price that Porto are planning to get with the sale, but as long as the offer sounds good for them and for the player, they should let him go. There’s no ‘only for the release clause’ talk this time, which would help Leicester.  http://sportwitness.co.uk/leicester-city-transfer-claims-gaining-strength-puel-varied-plan-player/

thought that too, thought Porto wont too good atm money wise and given hes got a year left on his contract he will probably be on the move,

think a £22mil bid could well get him tbh, be alot of a RB but we need a quality RB and imo Pereira fits the bill of what we need

Think if he stays Puels system needs really good left and right backs both in attack and defence, Man City have only invested around £150 million recently on their rather costly squad so not suggesting we pay £50 million but to go to the next step money has to be spent.

I think this deal has already been done. Their were rumours it had been agreed in April with Puel probably pointing at the fact he was playing Albrighton at right back to make his case!

Simpson has been a great signing for the club but the time is right to bring someone younger in with Simmo as cover. I know we have Amartey but Full backs are one of the most important positions in modern football and every top team in Europe has them. The best are athletic, have an engine on them and technically good on the ball.

Even if Puel went I think we will still sign this lad.

Agreed... We need a new RB and LB imo.
