Pogba is actually a really good player. He gets shit from ex pros yer da because he enjoys his his life and likes to have funny haircuts. He may not be worth £89m but that's not his fault, and how many big money players are actual worth their price tag for purely their talent.

Pogba, Neymar, Mbappe etc are huge commercial assets.

There's a little bit of that but I think it has more to do with the fact most people know how phenomenally gifted he is and he's an absolute unit too. That combination is rare and could set him up to be one of the best CMs ever  but for whatever reason, the application isn't there.

Difference between top 6 and us is that they are flat track bullies, and we are not. If we learn how to put away rubbish sides like Newcaste and Palace then we are seriously going places.

I see where you are coming from, but always demeaning these other teams as rubbish,is the major problem from all fan bases..which may also run into the .mentality and approach of the players,of the other so called decent teams. under valuing underrating any team in the PL,is because we see results like we do, or any an off form, but not poor team, suddenly start getting results away from home....

Unlike many I believe it is now, that we are seeing better players spread through all teams, and within the bottom 5, only one is really struggling for all round quality to keep themselves at the PL level. The others IMO ,like Fulham,Brighton,Southampton,C.Palace have at different periods in the season, either untimely injuries, long periods off form, and under-achieving.

That has always been in football, the twist &turns of the the individual clubs,at any given period through a season....It's no coincidence that the also-rans,have great runs then struggle against an assumed poorer positioned side...

This season especially IMO has seen an higher quality of,top 10-7 clubs, then again the quality of bottom half has in footballing terms improved tremendously.

Comparing them to seasons gone. Palace,Newcastle,West Ham,Southampton have players that could suddenly, push those top 8-11 positions.

If Newcastle &Southampton ,Everton get it right, they could steal in,by chasing down top 3-5 positions, before teams like Watford , Ourselves &Wolves.

The top 7-12,in any season at present for next season, are just 3 major injuries from dropping into those black hole positions,13-17th.

We talk about our youth system and academy...but is it strong enough to deliver 2-3 players like Barnes,Chilwell ,on a regular basis or when periods needs??

I know it's often just banter..but rubbishing and crapping on other teams, only then shows,....why bother if we are the only great team exsisting...

Especially when EVERY season,we have our defeats against less superior teams...

Probably it's me,but either when competing myself,or supporting individuals or  my Foxes teams,I think it's unwise, misplaced arrogance, when we belittle others.

We beat Huddersfield away  by 4 goals, not even the top teams enjoyed such a result...Fulham have just started albeit to late to turn their good football into results.

Brighton, who early on in the season, produced some great football in longer periods ,better than we were showing...

Newcastle ,again!!?  Are finding their quality  football that their squad deserves. Watford this year havent fallen off, though they had a slow middle season..

We are all bias, have knee-jerk emotional outings but I see you over periods being a fair critic/plaudit...So like I have mentioned if our competitors are rubbish, then surely there is no honour or achievements, when we beat them!!!

I think that adds to it, but the main reason he's nowhere near consistent enough. Pogba returning was meant to be the new United, here come the trophies boys. But thinking of it, I can't remember a single big game he's shown up for in a United shirt, the only thing that comes close is the Man City game last year.

Pogba has astronomical commercial value, so does Manchester United as a whole and most of their business in the transfer market has been big names, commercial potential & reputation over much else. Signing Sanchez showed them up completely, they had no idea what they were doing but saw the big name. Thing is they can afford the outlay because their brand brings in the cheddar from all over the World.

I think for them to be the top club again they really do need to take a step back from the big competitions and start afresh. There’s really no point in just being thereabouts and maybe getting lucky, much like arsenal.

Ed Woodward has done genius work at turning Manchester United FC into Manchester United TM, the Global Brand -- combination marketing behemoth (cash in the front) and ATM (cash out the back).  At putting squads (and managers) together, not such genius work.

But if £50m of annual returns can go toward paying the banks and ownership group, the latter appear happy.  Otherwise they’d have changed things up, given the non-monetary results?  And paid off more than a third of the borrowings used to acquire it.

Saying they need a teardown and rebuild, and expecting it would actually happen, are two different things.

If you have owners that care about the results as much as the numbers, and are good at building a structure to produce them, you're likely doing well.  If you have owners that are all that with beating hearts and investment in the community, maybe you are unique?   :)

The Glazers have outlasted vehement protests against their debt-loading 2005 takeover, and under Ed Woodward the relentless pursuit of sponsorships has delivered record turnover, almost £110m more than City, the next highest-earning club. The Glazers are still taking major money out: £23m was paid in dividends. United still owe £482m debts from their takeover, and interest paid was £25m.

No wonder the Glazers want the ruler Saudi price MBS to buy Manchester United, asking a ridiculous 4 billion pounds. I can't see anyone else who can afford to buy them with a huge price and huge debts.

Man Utd may be a huge club but it is woefully run compared to Man City. Man Utd have grown so arrogant, the players and fans thinking they are entitled to trophies. I see them heading what happened to Liverpool  2 decades ago.

They were saying it on the radio earlier. Prem teams apart from the top 3 or 4 are boring at home and exciting away

Interesting that. I can see it with Wolves and Palace and to a extent with us under Puel, and it can be easier to play away when the home team come at you. But in general teams home records are better than away and Palace buck that trend

Looks like Norwich and Sheffield United will be joining us next season .

Fancy Villa for the play offs ...

As long as dirty Leeds miss out, I'd quite like Derby to come up, with Sheffield United and Norwich. It would guarantee us all another season in the Premiership and would be fun to watch Derby try to beat their record the last time they were in the top flight.

It would be Frank Lampard's Derby County of course...

Nah

It'll always be Brian Clough's Derby County to us.

When was the last time we played Sheffield United in the top flight?

Early 90s I think

Sheffield United have had 1 top flight season in 25 years. Absolute pathetic.

Then again you look at other clubs down there and it isn't pretty. Leeds 15 years  Ipswich 18 years. Coventry 17 years. Forest 20 years. Sheff Weds 20 years.  All those clubs will claim to be bigger than Bournemouth, Watford etc but it's the latter who's relevant now.

4 goals in 25 mins.

Booked for time wasting after 31 mins. That’s got to be a new record.

It's about time refs were brave enough to give bookings for time wasting early on. Far too easy to give the token gesture yellow in the 92nd minute even if a keeper has been doing it all game.

Hopefully brave enough to give a second yellow if it continues as well.

Man U were doing it at around the same time at the KP this season. Unpunished, natch.

Never mind getting 7th, we should beat Arsenal and Chelsea regardless. Especially Chelsea. They are more vulnerable than Arsenal.

There’s been some cracking games of late. (In general not just PL)

The no-defence policy at the start of games is pretty good.
