Trying to 0-0 their way to survival, wouldn't be sorry to see them go at all. I think they will go down next season as there aren't enough goals in that team. It will be 3 out of Norwich, Sheffield United, Leeds and Villa that come up most likely and all are better than Brighton. That's if they keep Hughton on, as they might sack him despite staying up.
Corky Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Brighton have Newcastle next who, apart from Palace, are the hardest away team to play in the bottom half. And given Brighton have stopped attacking, that could be a serious grind to watch.
tsintskaro Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Who would have though that Iranian guy Brighton bought would have been a flop such a shame

For example, the Newcastle Southampton match looked entertaining.
Tuna Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Serves Brighton right with their shameless bus parking tactics. Got what they deserved. Brilliant strike from Eriksen.
Corky Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Bus parking I can accept, defending is part of the game. It is the blatant time-wasting (not bothering to pick up a trickling ball to take a throw-in, the keeper "changing" his mind about the goal kick position three times) and then the injuries (often cramp which only seems to happen when a team is getting the result it wants) that should be criticised.
Leeds Fox Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 If that game was mid-season then I could understand people complaining about how Brighton played. A point today would have been huge for them and it was clear for anyone to see that they had absolutely no hope of scoring. Brighton defended very well, Spurs deserved their goal after going close a few times... but I wouldn’t have begrudged Brighton a point, playing to their limited strengths.
CosbehFox Posted 23 April 2019 Posted 23 April 2019 Brighton would have played like that regardless of the circumstance.

Lucky to draw really - Saints were well organised and hit the post twice .

We were doing OK up until then. Ha! I remember that one! 4-0. A thoroughly miserable day. I think it was 2-0 after about 10 minutes and after that the girl next to me never looked up from her magazine for the rest of the game. It was so easy for them Dennis Wise was playing head tennis with someone from the crowd at one stage.

Aus Fox Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 So with Shane Long out doing Ledley King, is that Tottenham’s only contribution to the Premier League now gone!
fuchsntf Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 For tonights..big match..game of the season!!! Ole talking about Man.city.. how pathetic !!!! On Tuesday morning Solskjaer said: "There will be fouls. They will snap at your ankles and heels and kick you

Ric Flair Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 I've a feeling its going to be us that upset Man City, and not Man Utd. Can picture scenes similar to West Brom vs Spurs when Craig Dawson scored at both ends to pretty much confirm the title for us.

You'd want us to do exactly the same thing if we were in their shoes.

Sometimes you don't have a choice when the opposition are so much better at passing and keeping the ball. We pretty much relied on parking the bus, well a mini bus when we won the league the difference was we had a super outlet with Vardy being hoof fed by Drinkwater etc with a little bit of magic thrown in by Mahrez.

I remember my Man United mate storming out of the pub and walking home when they were 1-0 down to Bayern in the CL final. He got home to discover they'd scored twice in stoppage time!
HighPeakFox Posted 24 April 2019 Posted 24 April 2019 I left the pub when the score was Chelsea 0 - 2 Spurs, and I had a crowing pair of Spuds in front of me. So I'm taking all the credit.
