Prefer it when a new guy brings all his new staff in so this is overdue imo.

This.

Puel has everything as he wants it now - players, staff. Good to hear him speaking about sport science teams as well.

Hopefully should make getting one message across a bit easier.

Why can I find nothing on Jacques Bonnevay anywhere on the ‘ternet other than relating to the press release?

No evidence he warrants a step up to Assistant Manager or successful teams he has been involved with in the past. No obvious relationship with Puel from the past either, other than the obvious nationality link.

Seems a bit odd.

Look for "Jacky Bonnevay" instead.

Puel bringing in his mates so no one can challenge the boring loser football he produces.

Apart from the fact that Puel and Bonnevay have never worked together before. Not as far as I can tell.

I have to say I’m a bit uncomfortable with this. It’s got disaster written all over it, with experience of the Premier League at a bare minimum in the management team. Either that, or it’s a masterstroke.

But I hope this means we don’t need to hire a translator.

Get Wenger in as new director of football to complete the set.

You lot would love us to get relegated just to prove your gloomy proclaimations warranted.

It's somebum. He was calling for Pearson sacked even when we were gaming the championship. Might have been him that suggested a bet at 40/1 on us getting relegated the season we won promotion.

Doubt whether he'll go to a "bigger" Club than Leicester City     -      unless Blackpool want him back!!

Not a bigger club, but a bigger job - ie manager.

I know absolutely nothing about him, all we can really read into it is that Puel's basically being given a chance to really stamp his marker on the team and I'm happy to go with that - we had three options to take here...

1 - Sack Puel

2 - Keep Puel, but he's on thin ice

3 - Keep Puel, back what he's trying to do

I think 2 is probably the least productive of those three options. Backing number 2 puts us into the potential situation we were in a year ago.

This kind of tells me we've gone with option 3. I think he's lucky, but it at least shows some conviction on our side, and it gives Puel a far better chance of actually being a success here than option 2 does.

Now I wait for us to sack him in 3 months and everything I've just written is redundant.

He can have absolutely no excuses now if he fails to deliver like last season.

Problem is that he delivered on what he was hired to do.

I would certainly expect Mahrez to be present for pre-season starting Monday. Why on earth not? His contract has 2 (or 3?) more years to run and he is very much a Leicester City player.

If he played in any Algeria friendlies after June 2nd then he won't be required back this Monday.

Appleton hardy had any PL experience, what he had was mainly with us!

The last Algeria friendly was June 7th, so no walk of shame into the training ground (yet)

Something clearly happened during the bad run and Appleton is taking the fall for it, It would seem.

it's going to be a different scenario for the players with all the senior staff now Puel's people. This make Stowell the only go between the players will know and so It seems the players are going to have to toe the line. This will only end in one of two ways. More success or abject failure.

As for the new man, I'm not sure working in far flung places with poor football  standards qualifies you to work with top players in the premiership.

On the other hand if he's as good as Puel thinks then fresh Eyes can bring a new approach to our tactics.

I'm disappointed to see Appleton go, yet at the same time excited by Puel's additions to the squad and so lets hope this new Asst. Manager follows in that vein and is up to the job.  Otherwise it could be a long season.

At least I can understand that as a reasonable season for stowell to still be here.

If we have a similar season,  the shit bits are obviously stowell responsibility next season. By 2030 it might be Ruskin who has to fall on puels sword.

(When I typed puel, auto correct gave "You mad bastard" as an option.)
