Players getting frustrated with Diabaté.

Looks like the one player that has been rather underwhelming in all three pre-season matches so far.

Don't want to, but have to agree with you on this.

Diabate has turned into a shit Musa.

Apart from Peterborough he’s not done anything for us.

Pisses me off that we're playing all pre season in a 4-3-3 formation yet have shown no desire to replace Mahrez.

Albrighton doesn't suit a 4-3-3 and Diabate and Gray are not good enough.

We're in for a ****ing boring season. I can't see how we're going to be getting goals.

Regardless. It’s still awful and frankly anyone trying to defend any of this needs their head looking at.

All down to expectations. If you're expecting a team with an emergency back four, Albrighton in his first start for us since coming back from injury and a World Cup returnee in Silva to beat these with ultra-slick football, then good luck.

There is a valid argument to be made regarding their skill sets and worth to our team and a nuanced, reasoned discussion about which one should start would be welcomed.  Claiming Fuchs is "ten times the player" is not the nuanced, reasoned debate I was hoping for and, if I am honest, the hyperbole simply nullifies rather than assists your own viewpoint which is a shame really.  X

You’re right I think I was a bit over the top in my view point and it’s not that I think Chilwell isn’t good enough I just think he isn’t ready to be starting week in week out yet and Fuchs is better at the moment

I've never seen anything, other than his game against Posh, to suggest he's going to be anything decent. I never agreed with some of the comments about his potential on here.

Question:

How are our ‘first teamers’ Going to be fit by probably only playing one and a half pre season games?

Think the idea is you kind of keep them running at a low intensity through the remaining summer break, never quite letting them come down from peak fitness but still allowing them some recovery from the World Cup, and ease them back into the new season slowly.

Sports science is pretty sophisticated now and most clubs are in the same boat, it's  not worth worrying about.

No one's defending it ffs it's not even close to our first team. If it was our expected first team the moans would have a point.

So? These players are all going to be expected to play some part over the course. Can’t string two passes together. Coming back from internationals, first pre season game doesn’t stop you from being able to do the simple things.

I dont have time off work and expect to go back not doing the simple things.

Fuchs and Morgan’s time is up.

We really need to realise when to move players on, like when we give out shiny new deals to Simpson and Ulloa when it’s clear they are not good enough either.

Exactly, it is just a preseason game with a lot of second stringers but realistically, many of these could either start or be on the bench come the first game.

The major differences will be at GK and the back four, we also have Ndidi to come in of course but some of them aren't exactly doing themselves any justice

We’re seeing the problem with having a huge squad, and we’re clearly not sure who’s going to end up staying so we’re giving them all minutes in case we end up keeping them.

It's more that every single player out there looks like they've not kicked a ball for years and the season starts in 13 days time.

Completely understand that pre-season games in the early stages are for fitness, but we've only got two more games before we play Man United and we look completely devoid of any organisation or game plan  and off the pitch we're showing a complete lack of motivation in the transfer market.

It feels like we're settling for a 12th-15th placed, comfortable finish this season. We all know we can and should be doing better.
