Regardless. It’s still awful and frankly anyone trying to defend any of this needs their head looking at.

There is a valid argument to be made regarding their skill sets and worth to our team and a nuanced, reasoned discussion about which one should start would be welcomed.  Claiming Fuchs is "ten times the player" is not the nuanced, reasoned debate I was hoping for and, if I am honest, the hyperbole simply nullifies rather than assists your own viewpoint which is a shame really.  X

Silva and iborra really are piss poor for the money. Would take DD back over both put together.

Yeah it’s a little worrying. Can’t really figure out what our game plan is. It’s a bit like last season - lots of meaningless possession. 

 

I was hoping that we’d use preseason to really speed up our passing and interchange. No evidence of it so far.

The concern has to be that it’s evident very little preparation has been done so that players understand their roles for today.

 

This is a fundamental of coaching - that this is so evidently missing is shocking. 

 

Pre-season is about setting the right mood, culture and frameworks for the season ahead; fitness should be a given for professional athletes.

The state of some of these comments, this team wouldn't even start a league cup game! Maybe one or two first teamers that's it. Played alright so far but we do need a couple to come in which I'm sure will happen.

They aren't defending the game they are defending against people reading absolutely anything into it.
