This lad has got a similar ‘slab head’ to big harry. We’ll be the envy of the rest of the premier league when the two of them play together. Both could head two balls at once with their slab heads. Ain’t nothing getting past their big faces. FACT.

Is this lad fit? Wasn't overly impressed with Evans at the weekend, could he slot in next to Slabhead at Southampton?

My Mrs seems to think so.

Not short of centre backs so I don't think he will be risked before the international break. He may

make the bench, but that would mean no place for either Evans or Morgan who have a wealth of Premier League experience. I think Puel will stick with the 3 used so far, particular as it is Liverpool, so it will be Maguire with either Morgan or Evans, with the one not selected on the bench.

Safe to assume he's fit enough to play then. Suppose we're watching out for lack of match fitness, sloppy defending and lethargy as reasons why he hasnt made a matchday squad for us yet

Atleast he's finally getting a game under his belt...

Don't really get the tone of this – would you rather we threw him against arguably the most potent attack in the league while he wasn't fully fit?

Think it was widely acknowledged / recognised that he'd be involved after the break.

Seems very calm but the match is very placid, Russia now 1 up and Soyunch left a man to flick it across to the back post for the goal, he didn't seem very aware of the threat

I'm liking his two footedness. He's also the left of a two man defence so usually where we & England play Maguire, hopefully he also doesn't mind which side he covers

Can I not merely be happy he is getting competitive (Or maybe not, i'm not quite sure where this Nations League thing ranks in those terms) senior football?

The sensible part of me thinks we should give Evans another try, but whatever let's give this guy a match asap. Look like a very promising youngster.

I think it is fair to say he is ready for Bournemouth, so surely Puel will select him?

He's dropping back in alot for the offside trap, loads of pointing and shouting at his defence organising too. Turkey are really struggling to get into the game though, theyre lofting it back up to Russia and doing nothing with the ball, managers sat around gesturing with his ass man, palms flat up as if to say why are they doing this and that.

Not a good game to watch so far, I'll probs turn it off at half time

edit : lol and then they go and score. Sloppy cross comes down to a CM edge of the box and finishes

Half time verdict

Positives

Fit, enthusiastic, quick, distributes accurately with both feet, decent in the air

Negatives

Positioning not great, loses his man too easily (Dzyuba), dives in a bit
