I think it was Talk Sport pronouncing Gezzal as Hi-zal against Fleetwood.

People prounicng it Iniacho really annoys me. They hear somebody else say it properly and realise they don’t have the intelligence to grasp it or can not be bothered to learn it so think of another surname of a foreign footballer that sounds similar, but not that similar, and just morph this new guy’s name into another version of it. Iniesta in this case

I also remember just after when Okazaki signed for us an Merson on Soccer Saturday had a bit of paper with “Hockey-sack-ey” written on it ? It’s not even a difficult one to prounce for fuchs sake! It’s exactly as you read it in English! If anything what he has written on the paper just makes it more complicated! I look forward to seeing his attempt at prouncing Söyüncü

aCommentators pronouncing names wrong on purpose to seem worldly is my biggest pet hate - they've started with Ghezzal. 

 

It is going to drive me insane.

It won't stop Jonathan Pearce adding an "h" to every "s" because thatsh what commentatorsh are shupposed to do sho things shound more dramatic than they sheem and foreign shigningsh shound more shpectacular. 

John Motshon was shimilar, Chelshea and Giggsh etc.
