I noticed since last months, once I'm reading article from Mercury, the back button in my phone won't work anymore.

Force me to manually googling leicester city news whenever I finish reading.

Is it just on me?

their website is a disgrace. Borderline unusable with the advertising on there.

Ditto, except not even borderline. It is unusable for me full stop. I have an ad blocker, which could be the issue.

Links never work for me, and I mean never. I can get the home page up, or any other page someone might externally link to, but beyond that nothing. No link from a mercury page ever works for me. Not that I'm bothered. Praps one day I'll disable my ad blocker and find out if that's it... just out of curiosity.

All local news owned by Trinity Mirror have the same websites with the same issues, it's a shame really!

Don't go on the mercury website anymore, their website is literally unusable.

Most news you can find out elsewhere anyway, they aren't one for breaking news anymore.

Stopped even trying to get on their trashy website months back. What with the 'hard copy' now consisting of a few floppy leaves of news, on sale at a totally ridiculous price, LM have lost this once devoted reader !

Alternative? I always google for news qnd they keep bring me to the mercury

Stopped using the website a long time back and don't bother clicking links for the website. You'd think they'd be aware of the problem and sort it out. However, as an alternative they do have an app you can download from the apple or android apps stores and that works fine.

Saw the title and I knew this thread would be comedy gold.  Clicked and began to read ...

a freakin' discussion of the shortcomings of the Mercury website.

Really disappointing.

Speaking of buttons not working, has anyone noticed on Fotextalk, if a post receives more than 5 likes you can’t click the LOL icon?

edit; this might only be on iPhone. Try with the third post on this topic

The Mercury is quite a poor website imo.

Hard to navigate with the amount of adverts it contains etc.

People complaining about ads. Realise that Leicester Mercury (and any newspaper website really) is providing you news for free. You aren't paying for publication like you would in a newsagents for a physical copy. Ads are used to make a little bit of money.

This sounds so obvious but simply look for another resource if it's bothering you.

I have no objection to ads on websites I know they need them but the mercury is the worst I’ve seen

I used it the other day and after the page finally loaded

I counted 29 adverts on the one page I visited
