dayday Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 The People say he is returning to the club to help out with recruitment.
Izzy Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 I didn't even realise The People was still a paper. Thought it disappeared years ago
hackenbacker Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 "I didn't even realise The People was still a paper. Thought it disappeared years" Its for the people to decide ........ i.e. the people had a vote and the people wanted The People back
volpeazzurro Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 He's had his day and would sooner recruit via the Jobcentre! Thought he'd moved to be nearer his family up North, was that an untruth then? After his complete balls up at Everton, it smacks of desparation. There doesn't seem to be any rumours of other clubs galloping after his signature?
lcfc81 Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 Would be happy for him back if the club wants him. Knows the club and has experience working in/setting up a very successful scouting base/system.
Guest Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 Surprised with the negativity. Possibly more important to our title win than Mahrez and Vardy combined. (being as we wouldn't have had them without him).

He may not be a great DoF but he has proven himself in a recruitment role. X

There doesn't seem to be any rumours of other clubs galloping after his signature? I don’t think Walsh was involved in scouting the players at Everton. Sure, he wasn’t a good DoF. But he isn’t coming back as a DoF. If he’s coming back to be involved in the scouting then there is no evidence to suggest ‘he’s had his day’ in this department.
brookfox Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 It’s ironic because I heard a rumour from Steve Walsh this morning that The People was coming back.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 Don’t see this as a backwards step at all, he’s a very good scout with generally a good track record.
Ric Flair Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 At least we'd be linked with players in the papers again. Wasnt it Walsh's brother who used to tip off the press? ??

st albans fox Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 He was officially ‘assistant manager’ he used to sit at the back of the directors box with the analysts and communicate with the bench since he left, we have never been as tactically good as we were in that special season I’m not saying that he had any input on match days other than to pass on messages but you just never know ........ i assume he (along with shakey) were effective sounding boards for the players). There may be some truth in this ....perhaps top is looking to get people around the playing side of the club that he knows well and feels he can trust
HighPeakFox Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 And if the club wants him, and he wants to return?
Foxxed Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 The man who found Vardy, Kante and Mahrez? I'm more than happy to have him back in any capacity even if he did choose to leave before. He's bound to be great for the club, again.
Izzy Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 So he doesn’t want to be back ‘home’ with his family anymore then?

Max Wall Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 If it improves the current 'team' in that area of the club, I'm all for it.
m4DD0gg Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 I would take him back so he can unearth some more gems like Musa and Slimani

katieakita Posted 18 November 2018 Posted 18 November 2018 We can all think of a multitude of reasons why he left , maybe just the chance of a different job and more financial security and after all people are allowed to change jobs, whatever went wrong at Everton should be of little interest to us. Think over the last few weeks we have learned and agreed we have had a pretty well run club for the last few years. If there is a job for him to do and it works for him and the club then why not. Surely stability and going with what you know will help the club going forward
