Because we’re in the position at least 15 other teams would dream to be in and our fans sit like lemons who have been forced to come watch

I think you need to go and watch some other teams' home support and then report back. Until then, you really don't have much of a case.

fans want atmosphere but the type of fan is not there. we are a family club like norwich, reading and bournemouth.

our away ends are known as poor and as for the clappers well it shows we are a family club.

I miss Pen 3

Me too :(

Looking back through my blue tinted specs we always sang loud no matter what. Even when we were proper shit we had a great range of songs and always got behind the team.

Different times though I guess...

Just more excuses. Just because 90% of the fanbase aren't bothered doesn't stop the 10% from getting their arses in gear.

because we don’t have an edge to us like a chelsea or leeds. we are a likeable family club.

Chelsea fans were complaining yesterday about the exact same issues we have, fans leaving early, poor atmosphere etc, this isn’t just a problem for us, but at the end of the day it’s a shame that as a club who isn’t traditionally like “Reading and Bournemouth” as you say we seem incapable of generating any noise when we’re fortunate enough to have such a great team.

I never used to understand why people went in Pen 4.

Alright Mr Picky you can bugger off now ...   our supporters yesterday were disgraceful ...   about 7 mins to go and they started leaving in their droves ...  we needed one fookin goal to get all 3 points ..   and if Vardy had got it we would have been BUZZING !! ...    imagine what the players thought seeing that ...   wouldn’t exactly inspire them would it !! ...   and only the week before Brendan had specifically asked supporters to stay till the end.    So, no it doesn’t matter if we are the worst or not ..  the point is (and what the poster is probably trying to make) we are fookin embarrassing  !! ...  and that IS the point.

I'm not going to bugger off because you tell me to and call me silly names. I understand the point as well, I'm not daft.

Other than telling us all how awful we are (and for the sake of argument, I'll agree in this instance), where are all the constructive suggestions to counter this? Slagging off isn't going to change a damn thing, is it?

Of course slagging off could change things ! ..  by shaming some of the tw@ts that wander early off if they read this.

Closer to the away fans the better mate. When Pen 2 was closed, pen 3 was the next best option. I rarely if ever went in Pen 4.

You really think shaming people works?

I think the clappers need to be binned. People think tapping them on their knee is enough to create an atmosphere.

Two things.

And then what?

I very much doubt anyone actually sits there thinking, by tapping this piece of cardboard on my knee I’m making a contribution to the atmosphere

Tbh I don’t buy that we have a fan base like Bournemouth reading etc, just 4 years ago we were being hyped as the loudest in the league, even in 14/15 we were getting praise while being bottom for most of the season. The issue for me is that the title win has fully changed fans expectations and mentality, fans no longer can be arsed unless it’s a Man City or Liverpool coming to town, we EXPECT to roll over any of the lesser teams and wait for the players to give us something to shout about rather than roaring them on from the start. It’s a shame but we do have a decent amount who do contribute, they are just spread out and often not around likeminded fans

If we can't get it going for Boxing day then we might as well give up.

If people aren't hoarse after that game they don't deserve to view Champions League football

Tbh Peaky I’ll try anything ! ...  it really really bugged me yesterday ...  one goal that would have made so much difference ...   but more importantly the effect it had on our players AND a manager that is probably one of the best we have ever had ...   we should have been yelling our heads off ..  do we want to keep Brendan and our best players ????    I recall Chilwell waiting for the ball to be thrown back from the crowd right in front of me  ...  he must have noticed the exodus ...  :(

Anyway ...   I will move on ...   rant over.

Don't get me wrong, I take your points on this. I just think the issue is deeper and wider than just us.

Ever thought the poor performance at home is cuz our fans are shit. Definitely not because you’re one of them who thinks it doesn’t matter it’s all up to the players. Footballs gone

Well seeing as we haven’t lost at home yet, our support must be amazing, based on your idiotic point.
