Puel 'Facing the sack' - reports

Recommended Posts

ÄMy hope is that Puel finally starts opening up to the idea that the 4-2-3-1 alone isn‘t the answer. It only works if you have the corresponding personnel at your disposal and you‘re facing attacking opposition.

We have to become more flexible in terms of formation, 4-3-3 or 4-1-2-1-2 are the way forward; the latter formation would fit like a glove, very good for quick counter attacks.

I've said it before, I'll say it again - Rafa is nowhere near the correct fit for this club, for a plethora of easy to see reasons.

if you think Rafa is the solution to the 'Puel problem' then your knowledge of football is quite lacking, tbh.

Depends I suppose you could say who has had the most successful careers to date.

Puel failed in making a push for Europa league last season.

Puel failed in not picking our strongest side v Man City Pre xmas.

Puel failed by picking our deadwood yesterday.

Puel has already failed this transfer window by pretty much saying no signings will be made

By beating Chelsea and Man City over Xmas, we did something that happens every few years. Without these results we would be 14th and going nowhere.

We have failed to beat Fulham, Palace and Cardiff during December alone.

Does anyone actually believe we will be finishing 7th ? Puel will Cock it up that’s for certain!

Our squad is poor and unbalanced and work needs to be done this window.

Fed up of Puels rubbish now..

That's fair enough... but on the flip side if we carry on our trend of performing well against the big sides, and squeezing a result out of Wolves who don't like playing teams around them... we could be knocking on 6th's door never mind 7th...

My reason for saying this is that the Premier League below 4th is playing out much like the Championship... no one knows what's going to happen from one week to the next, so there's not really any point getting wound up about it!

By the end of February we could be talking about a battle with Arsenal and Man Utd. Or we could be talking about how the **** we've ended up 14th!

We did lose out on that Man City game by dodgy penalties.. we could have easily gone through if we took better penalties and nothing more would have been said.

It's also worth to note a manager is hardly going to come out in the press and say "yes we're looking at X player" no manager does that unless it's over the line.

Finally reason why we have failed to beat those teams comes down to not having a target man striker, we cannot break teams down who come to defend. Until we get the right personnel in this will continue.. so the club need to invest in players.

With Iborra gone we may see a signing soon!

You know how we all love football because nothing is written in stone?

Or maybe you don't like that? :dunno:

Never in a million years are we even challenging for 6th..

We only had Burnley as opposition for 7th last season and that ended disastrously..

Would love 7th but due to our inconsistent team selection and performances I just cannot see it.

Finishing in the top half of the league is as good as I could wish for. Europa league would just be a lovely bonus.

Still we probably should've just played our Leicester Legends all season and then we'd have won the league again

Which tells us Puels tactics are wrong by continuously putting balls in the box from wide areas...

Everyone seems to think we would have beaten Man City in the cup had we played a stronger team. I expect Man City would have raised their level as they did after we equalised so not a forgone conclusion. I would have taken penalties before the game as out recent form was pants

Admittedly, he hasnt done much to fix this :(

He thinks we are going to play football like Man City and therefore no need for a target man.

i am all for having a playing style but to not have a target man of some kind at the club is unbelievable! We are never linked with any either!

Rodgers? I just have a feeling he would be a great fit for us here. Benitez would definitely be a safe pair of hands though.

Not a bad call, I think we are big enough now to attract a topish manager, but there is very little proven out there in this bracket for me, that could move us on, and I think we need a solid, proven manager to take us forward.

Lots of new potentially top managers out there, like Wagner, but can’t remember his name, Hull now Everton, everyone raves about him, gone to a big club, but keeps getting sacked, and not for filling the hype

Errrr Errrrrrm because he is the manager ?

Matty James gets a 4 year deal under Puel! ( no doubt on plenty of money)

We sell 2 target men and don’t replace them

They ok for starters ?

Depends if we're the same ball number as them or not, no idea how the draw works in the Carabao Cup. Its's probably done selecting 4 tins of spaghetti hoops from farm foods on a Wednesday morning at 4am via Skype in Hull.

Even if we're the same number, with the butterfly effect you never can tell.

With a bloated squad, loads of injuries and 9 players with an eye on the World Cup in the summer? That squad wasn’t good enough to qualify and neither would it be good enough to sustain the extra games or travel the Europa League requires. He can’t improve the squad overnight.

Vindicated.

The side that actually played really well in the second half, got the equaliser but ultimately buggered up 3 penalties in a row? He can’t take the penalties for them. Oh, and because some players were rested, we had a strong enough XI to go and beat Chelsea AND Man City within 7 days.

Vindicated.

He can’t control Albrighton’s hands from the dugout you know.

The side he chose should have been good enough to win that. Should. But they weren’t. They proved that once again that much of our squad is not good enough, and will require more time to improve. Again, that can’t happen overnight.

We’re 7 days in with another 3 weeks to go. By all means complain in 3 weeks if we haven’t signed anyone but you can’t have a go at him for that, sorry.

A hell of a lot of work needs to be done. It can’t be done overnight - it took Pearson at least 2 years to build a team capable of going up. Puel has only had one summer window so far; if we sacked him now, while 7th in the league and the 5th best defence, whoever came in would want time to assess the squad and put their own stamp on it. You’re going to have to lump it.

I think the best coach for us would be.....

1. Adi Hutter (Young Boys) they played great attacking football.

2.Luis Pimenta (Brommapojkarna) only 36 and has a sports psychology degree from Liverpool Uni.

3. Miguel Cardoso (Rio Ave)

4. Florian Kohfeldt (Werder Bremen)

5. Domenico Tedesco (Schelke)

6. Eric Ten Hag (Ajax)

7. Pablo Machin (Girona)

Seems you are entirely happy with how things are going then ?

Our squad wasn’t better than Burnley ?

Any Excuses for not beating Cardiff, Fulham and Palace which let’s be honest we’re awful performances.

He continuously speaks about now isn’t the time to buy players..Summer time we will do our business.

Theres very little point in us getting 7th this year then really as the squad is all over the place

Fed up of Puels rubbish now..

Puel succeeded in keeping us up after the previous manager got sacked for putting us in the bottom three.

Puel succeeded by giving us the faintest hope of being in Europe last season considering everyone else had a 7 point head start.

Puel succeeded in reaching three quarter finals out of four.

Puel succeeded in getting us currently 7th.

Puel succeeded in getting us 7th despite the fact all the whinge bags like you said we'd be in a relegation fight without Mahrez.

Puel succeeded in reducing the age of a creaking squad.

Puel succeeded in turning the 5th worst defence into the 5th best.

Puel succeeded in signing Ricardo and Maddison

Puel succeeded in making Ben Chllwell England's left back, a player all the whinge bags like you said should be sold or loaned out.

Puel succeeded in stopping us from conceding from every other set piece against us.

If you remove all the losses, and draws Puel has succeeded in winning every single game.

Fed up of Puels successes now.....If you find this ludicrous, it's no different to your warped overly negative post.

That 4 yr deal, like many other deals I doubt had anything to do with Puel...

So black n white for many, without understanding others have a big say behind the scenes...

We couldn't replace the strikers...finances tied up...
