StanSP Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 One of those injuries that could turn in to a 'blessing in disguise'. Perfect opportunity for Gray, Barnes and Ghezzal to prove themselves and that they can play regularly. Additionally it might stop us pinging crosses in to a forward who is constantly marked by two big centre-backs (this may not be Albrighton's fault, of course).

lgfualol Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Good news for Barnes. Bad news for Albrighton. Dont think he has ever been out for longer than 1 or 2 games since the title win.
SouthStandUpperTier Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 So is he or isn't he out for the rest of the season? The question mark in the thread title makes it rather ambiguous.

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Hard on Marc, but to be honest, he's hugely limited and not going to improve, and this gives others who are our future rather than him, extra game time, so from a Leicester perspective its a hidden blessing.
psychonaut Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Albrighton whether you like it or not is one of our best players. To perform week in week out to the standard that he achieves is a rare quality in itself. He’s one of the most underrated players in the league and this reflects no more so than within our own fanbase. I think its quite easy to just define him through his graft and industry and unfortunately his composure, drive and football intelligence are often overlooked. Perhaps its because he’s good at everything but doesnt overlly excel at anything (bar his graft and industry) and thats maybe why he gets defined in this way. Either way its a damn shame he’ll likely not feature for the rest of the season as our first 11 is weaker without him.

Presumably it happened during training? As others have said it is now there for someone to step up to the plate and stake their claim for first choice starting spot. At least it will save Puel the dilemma of having to drop him for being the best player on the pitch by disobeying orders and trying to make insightful forward passes to Vardy. And the special award for unfunniest remark goes to....
MPH Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 i’d like to see barnes and ghezzal and then Gray used as an impact sub.
dmayne7 Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Obviously it is a good opportunity for Barnes and Gray in particular but a massive blow for us. Generally speaking, he's had a good season and can always be depended on which is massively needed given how inconsistent we are.

Hope you don’t give work appraisals for a living
SheppyFox Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Ghezzal goes into the team over gray for me, not happy about our Marc being injured though.

He's limited and its blue tinted specs to suggest otherwise, but obviously very good at what he does well, ie effort, commitment, keeping shape, playing the percentages. Maybe its not what we need any more though if we are actually going to become a passing team.
Grebfromgrebland Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Just makes the rest of the season more exciting

Vardinio'sCat Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Could have happened at a far worse time. If we had lost him (for this long) in early december we would have had a real problem. As we are only playing once a week from here on in, it isn't too bad. As it is, the others will more opportunities to play.

Keiriel Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Rumour has it that Puel crocked Albrighton in training for playing one too many forward passes.
Ian Nacho Posted 8 February 2019 Posted 8 February 2019 Worry about our wingers tracking back now with Albrighton out of the equation.
