Well his wages will have certainly fallen.

They go much further in Burnley though.

The move to Chelsea was probably a step too far on his career ladder.

Burnley may look like a step back in comparison, but they have a decent team, a solid unit, and if he can help them creating more chances, then fair play.

I wish him well and that he gets more minutes under his belt, lad deserves more time on the pitch. Hopefully, he'll silence his critics once and for all.

He’s useless, he won’t. £35m - I’m still laughing!!!

Think it was something like 7 minutes in 15/16 that they were top of the league.

Now now, credit where it's due - it was 13 minutes.

Andy Carroll to Newcastle. Potential worry’s about fitness though. LOL.

If they just shove a couple of corks up his nostrils he’ll be fine.

For a team that only had £45m to spend according to the most reliable of ITK's (Ornstein) Arsenal have found a load of cash from somewhere. Did they sense the teams creeping up behind them and find money down the back of the sofa?

As it stands you could make a compelling case to say Arsenal had the best transfer window in the Premier League. Their squad still has issues, but I feel like they've tried to address several key areas, have got in some pretty good players and through some "creative" accounting have not had to make any massive outlays. Additionally they didn't lose any of their key players.

Of the top 6, as it stands I think Man United and Chelsea are the teams that can be got at. Man U brought two excellent defenders, but their attacking play lacks finesse. I assumed they didn't go for Tielemans because they had Bruno Fernandes lined up, but now they have neither I would say our midfield is much better than theirs. Selling Lukaku also seems odd to me, as he has a better scoring record than Rashford and Martial.

I'm a bit surprised deadline day has been so quiet in general. Yesterday it seemed like it was going to be a manic one, but most clubs have massively dialled back their plans it seems.

I would honestly prefer to rot in Chelsea’s reserves picking up 100k a week having a good time in London than to go and play for Burnley

He still lived up in Cheshire, so he wasnt even living the supposed 'London lifestyle'.

It's a loan deal so he'll still be being paid 100k a week regardless, and now that the team he plays for is up north his commute is even shorter (not that he'd be driving anytime soon... )

Its the difference between travelling across the country every other day for meaningless training sessions and gym work, or actually being a part of something and contributing.

Ridiculous logic by whoever tweeted that.

Does that mean that if next summer they have a budget of £50m, then they'll actually only be looking to spend £35m because of Pepe? And the year after, and the year after...

Sure, the money isn't all coming out right now but it's still been spent.

Drinkwater to Burnley... how the mighty have fallen.

Not at all. Some supporters really get rusty, he's not Mahrez you know :D

Austin to West Brom is good for both.

Sessegnon to Spurs is being overplayed. He had a poor season in the prem, let's wait until he's seen as a replacement for FBs leaving this summer.

We were only being used in the Sarr negotiations

I reluctantly agree about the top six, they've clawed it back somewhat in this window while we've now really improved as much as I thought we would.

I maintain Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal could all go pear shaped this year but I rate that as less likely than I did about three weeks ago.

Man Utd's attack is horrible mind. I can't see them scoring too many.

Watford sign Sarr for club record fee of £35m. 😪

I can see why we dodged that signing. That is a lot of money for a largely unproven player with a clumsy touch on first inspection. I think Perez at 30m is a better signing for this upcoming season, even if Sarr might ultimately go on to become the better player and sold for more money. We already have two "prospects" in wide areas in Barnes and Gray. If we were going to buy another, it should have been on someone that can make the difference right now. And who knows we might have done that already in our other signings.

I think a lot of FT regulars feel a bit deflated today, but that's only because someone got everyone's hopes up! I think overall we've had a really good window, signed some great players and our performances have been great. I am really, really looking forward to kick-off on Sunday! :scarf:

Man Utd’s attack definitely looks a lot worse off without Lukaku

Who do they have?

Rashford, Sanchez  (Is he still there) and Martial?

Their line up is one of the weakest

Most of there drippy fans will probably tell you Mason Greenwood will bang in the goals for them this season

Agree totally. All in all we have had a great window and I for one am really looking forward to Sunday.

Praet will be the icing on the cake for me.

Wonder if there are any other deals structured like Pepe's that they conveniently haven't included.

In a summer of bonkers transfer fees Everton paying £40m for Alex Iwobi has to be the most bonkers of them all.

Things Danny Drinkwater didn’t say

1. I want to leave Leicester to further my career by playing for Burnley on loan

2. Just a glass of water please barman
