Wonder what will happen to the home games now leicester have  been put into stricter lockdown

In essence we could play every game away from home. It seems an advantage if anything.

Burnley are 8th in the league and had Erik Pieters on the left wing tonight. And people say this is the best league in the world.

It is the best league in the world. If the Prem played against every other league 1v1, 2v2, ....bottom v bottom. The prem teams would win more than they lose against every league. We have incredible depth.

Sean Dyche is a better manager than Brendan Rodgers.

I'd have to agree, the problem is that he plays too defensively for our fans and complains too much. Tactically he's head and shoulders above Brendan and his record proves it.

Modern day Sam Allardyce, nothing more. Burnley are his Bolton. He's also being linked with Newcastle which is the same move Allardyce made.

Dyche is another manager (like Howe) who has wasted a lot of money but it rarely gets mentioned.

Gibson, Vydra and Hart from last season is around £30m, one has already been released on a free and the other two hardly ever play. Hendrick was £10m+  and it was 2016 when they paid that. Brady was £13m. £8m for Defour. Another £30m+ for not much return.

The best Dyche could hope for is an underachieving big side if those sides fail this season (Villa / Leeds / Sunderland).

Villa would be a good shout actually. So would a West Ham.

Bloody hell, didn't realise that. Knew Gibson had all but disappeared from radar and Hart was a weird panic. Vydra has played lately but probably more through injuries. Brady has been injured a bit i thought?

Dyche is a good manager, but he's limited and will always need a certain type of club I reckon. His methods will only suit certain players.

Hearing him on the Peter Crouch podcast last week, I actually thought he came across pretty well and changed my opinion on him a little bit. Still find his comments and pitch side antics, the way he complains about everything annoying though.

Based on his tactics tonight, Dyche would pick this team for Everton away if he was our manager for the night:

Kasper

JJ Evans Wes Cags Fuchs

Praet Hamza Wilf Chilwell

Vardy

Dyche's tactics tonight were based on (by the end of the match) having only 11 players available who have ever played first team football.  With 7 injured, 3 cleared off early because they didn't want to play, and Gibson sulking up at Middlesbrough, he was short of options.  4-4-2 is hard to paly when you only have 4 specialist attackers and midfielders - hence Pieters on the wing and 5-3-2 after Cork went off.

Incidentally, what a man Ben Mee is.  I know it's a long time since he played for you; this was his 300th league game for Burnley.  He's captaining, playing 3 times a week, representing the club especially on BLM, and has a new baby daughter in hospital born 16 weeks premature (she's 6 weeks old now).

I got excited when I saw he scored - knowing he's in my fantasy team. Turns out he's my 3rd choice sub, behind Craig Cathcart  15 points I won't be seeing

A nice little read about how Wolves defend, for those who think we just park 11 men behind the ball.

You do park 11 men behind the ball though lol

Certainly had occurred that the break would have benefitted Wolves more than most though, both for resting players and the fact that there's no issue with juggling league and Europa league now.

Looks like the love child of a 19th century golf ball and a Nike billboard.

That swoosh is so huge and so high-contrast, I wonder if keepers will find it distracting trying to track hard, spinning shots.

That and the fact we play exactly the same home and away and don't rely on the fans to get us playing.

We do defend in numbers (same as everyone else most of the time) but we do it in a way which is clearly thought out and planned for expending less energy and restricting chances.

7 clean sheets from the last 8 games, and Patricio only having to save one shot on target in six hours of football says a lot.

I'm not saying theres anything wrong with it, football's a tactical game. In fact I'm saying it because it's odd that you get so defensive about it (no pun intended).

And yeah, keeping 11 men behind the ball tends to expend less energy and restricts chances...

What a bottom-licking article by "Four Four Two Staff".  It's clearly a paid-for advert, and I thought you weren't allowed paid-for adverts without making it obvious.

I don't agree the game needs revolutionising anyway.  They could revolutionise it by making the goals twice as big and not letting the goalkeeper handle it - but it wouldn't be an improvement.

I like Dyche. He seems a laugh. He annoyed me when we were both in the Championsip but fvck me we've moved on from that.

The way he, and Burnley conducted themselves, twice, in terms of respecting Vichai was good.

He's done great with Burnley but he probably is limited. I wouldn't want him here but I'd like to see him have a crack at another club.

Burnley play extremely defensively and still concede loads of goals. They’re a better attacking side than they get credit for but I’m not certain they’re good, just a bit more effective than most teams in the league.

Dyche has certainly done a brilliant job considering the board won’t back him but I think the style of football he coaches is only effective at clubs not expected to take the iniative more often than not.

I’ve got a feeling he ends up at West Ham
