bovril Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Got to be Arsenal. Especially as they turned out to be one of the great club sides in English football.

Nalis Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 All of the obvious ones have been taken so I'm going to narrow mine down matches I've seen live... 2-1 win at White Hart Lane in the FA Cup.
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 As mentioned before Villa 4-4 City City 3-3 Arsenal and the Swindon play off defeat, my mood went from pissed off, to elation, then to despair, I didn’t cry though!
Long Eaton Fox Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 3-2 v liverpool around 45 years ago. Weller hat trick I think.
ClaphamFox Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Possibly not the greatest ever but a really enjoyable one: the 4-3 win over Leeds in 1989. They brought loads of fans and had half the kop, and were 2-0 up by half-time. Paul Ramsey came on at half-time and scored twice to make it 2-2 before Strachan seemed to have won it for them with a very cheeky penalty. Then Paul Moran scrambled one in before Gary McAllister swept home right at the end. Sheer pandemonium.
Stoopid Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 For old gits like me, it has to be the Cup replay against Man City in 68. A night match - a rammed Filbert Street - two goals down in half an hour... The unlikely hero? Frank Large. A lower-league journeyman who'd pitched up here and had the game of his life that night. We took a 4-2 lead (us kids racing onto the pitch after the equaliser and subsequent goals). Man City got a late 3rd, but we did it. Fantastic night of raw emotion and crazy celebration. Took me a week to get my voice back!
urban fox Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 the best bit about comebacks is the atmosphere and mounting belief as you watch it unfolding. Swindon play off for me. we were behind the goal and the whole of that end of wembley was quiet. first goal at least we have got consolation, second we were possibly back in it as a constest the third was total delirium, people hugging and kissing each other, the noise levels suddenly rocketing off the decibel scale and the feeling that we were now bossing it. OK so a dodgy pen and we left empty handed but certainly not empty hearted. There was a lot of pride felt that day
Hawk17 Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 I'm a new Leicester fan so I can't attest to much historically, but for me I'll never forget the 2-2 against Stoke in 2016. I hadn't called myself a Leicester fan yet but I'd fallen completely in love with the side during the title winning season and had watched religiously ever since. Things were beyond terrible that season and it seemed like everything was going wrong. That game was just insane, Vardy sent off. More players than I could even count on yellow cards, us down 2-0 and Vardy at half-time and Kasper having to restrain Claudio Ranieri of all people from screaming at the referee. There was absolutely no reason why that game shouldn't have been a disaster of ****ing epic proportions yet out of nowhere Ulloa scored. The game wasn't quite a disaster after that but you still never thought in a million years we were going to come back. Then Amartey scored that header from a Fuchs cross with only a few minutes to spare and the amount of passion I felt through a computer screen half a world away in Australia was crazy. Against all odds with absolutely everything wrong the Fearless Foxes spirit had come alive and the last few minutes if anything, we were going to score again. Proudly called myself a Leicester fan since. And I can't find the photo right now but there is a beautiful shot of Amartey hugging Ulloa and them both near tears. The passion and love for the game is what makes this game the worlds game and as obscure a choice as it is, this games one of my favourites of all time because it made me call myself a Fox.
Devonfox1884 Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 FA cup 3rd round 2006, beat Spurs 3-2 from 2-0 down with an offside De Vries 90th minute winner

I know we ending up losing to a poor penalty decision, but to pull it back from 3-0 down & not even looking like we was in the game was unreal I thought this game to it was such a good fight back from us. The commentary was excellent to.
Bayfox Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 To get back to 3-3 against Swindon was a brilliant fight back. Let's ignore the 7th goal. As others have said that 3-3 v Arsenal. To make it 2-2 so late on and then go 3-2 behind again was gutting. The fact Walshy then did it again to snatch a point was great. Something about night games at filbert st anyway. But reckon that's a goal I celebrated a little more than normal. And in the title season. Villa at home. How they were ahead I'll never know. But I had a feeling vardy would score, think he'd just been away with England and it seemed like he always had a point to prove when he returned. Once we got level there was only 1 winner.

Footballwipe Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 I absolutely would've loved being at the Swindon game, and especially the 1997 Arsenal game. Arsenal seemed like an amazing night. Warm summer evening at Filbo, incredible goal from Bergkamp, even more incredible fightback, scrap between Wright & Walsh at the end. Oh man.

urban.spaceman Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Arsenal and Villa definitely stand out, particularly the latter as it set the tone for the rest of the season for both clubs. But really it's between Sevilla and Man Utd for me. I was at Sevilla and it was on my birthday too! I've never arrived for a match earlier - just soaking up the atmosphere it was like we all KNEW it wasn't over. Everyone was up for it. Really though it has to be the Man Utd game. Newly promoted, media and fans arrogantly bigging up Man Utd and their attacking force, 3-1 down? Then BOOM. Jamie Vardy announced his arrival in the Premier League, and it's ****ing glorious. That one match did wonders for my mental health at such a difficult time. Even though we won the league since, even though Sevilla happened, even though I wasn't even at this game, it's definitely my favourite comeback
copunk Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 The villa come back for me... 1.Because once we got the 1st you just knew we werent going to lose 2. Because of the absolute bedlam when Vardy equalised 3. Because i despise villa with a passion Can remember leaving the ground after thinking "bloody hell maybe we can crack the top 8 this season" The rest is history
Crazy Kop Corner Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 0-2 in 1984 against Brentford in the league cup I remember with less than 10 minutes to go. Ran out 4-2 winners. Spurs comeback pales into insignificance by comparison
CosbehFox Posted 9 May 2019 Posted 9 May 2019 Swindon.....that game was what bit me and started off the football bug for me. Just to say that Villa game is generally viewed as the moment Villa started their downfall to relegation.

I remember Mark Venus lashing in the winner. That's the game that springs to mind for me, when Mark Venus won it with that last minute screamer from about 30 yards out. 2-0 down after 82 mins and won it 3-2.
