Albrighton was a clear improvement on him, had an immediate impact.

Rubbish, he was anonymous. Not necessarily his fault as the game was not ours really but he was ineffective. We badly need some sort of form from our wingers or a brave move in the market next month.

What is most disappointing is that it looks like he is the sort to retreat into his shell when he is low on confidence.

There is a player in there, he showcases nice inter play here and there and he is decent driving forwards with the ball, but his limitations increasingly appear to show he might not be of the level we hoped (namely lack of composure/ability to get head up in final third, too easy to dispossess in tight situations, questionable positioning both whilst attacking and defending, goes into hiding if low on confidence ).

He shouldnt be given up on right now because he has shown some promise in fits and starts but its urgent we get at least 1 quality winger signed in January because its our weakest area by a distance.

The lad had 2 injections so he could play today ffs. Was on crutches less than 48 hours ago.

If that’s the case, which brain dead moron has said let’s play him! It’s not like it’s Vardy and we are ****ed without him

Couldn't have put it better.  :appl:

When the going gets tough, he needs to be able to do the ugly part of the game...Retreating into his shell is exactly what he does.

He cant carry the whole team, he was clearly better, finding Vardy within a few minutes of coming on as well as showing more bite in tussles, but didnt have long before the penalty at which point the entire team collapsed.

Another poor performance. With all the will in the world I want him to succeed at this club but he's been below par most of the season.

Thought Albrighton played better when he came on.

However, if we want to keep compete up at the top of the table we desperately need new wingers in January

He needs a rest, he's low on confidence anyone can see it. Then start him from the bench for a few games. Same with Tieilmans frankly.

I agree. From the 1st half it was like repeat performance of the man city game. Against top teams like Liverpool and city you have to be better in all areas to just compete with them.

they do not make any mistakes but they do pounce on you as soon as you do. That’s a ruthless streak we need to develop. Barnes just looks out of his depth somewhat. Maybe by throwing him into these situations Rogers is actually making him a worse player?

At least you can stop going on about playing him on the right now :D

Don't think you can defend that performance as "trying too hard" or "lacking confidencs" really. He refused to press or tackle.

If you try too hard or lack confidence you generally over-press or go into tackles top enthusiastically.

Thought that his attitude stunk today. It was a very lazy performance of someone who just didn't try hard enough.

I could forgive him somewhat if he actually did try too hard today.

Most people that know stuff about football say he will develop into a good player.

But by all means, you write him off after he played with an injury against the Champions elect...

Sigh.

The old Andy King defence.

Only people who know football appreciate him.

Newsflash sonny, to get to where he is in life at 22 years means he has a lot more heart and ability than you fuching do.

Constructive criticism is fine but let's not go around calling our homegrown youngsters shite.

The fact you mentioned he is home grown shows you have bias though.

Allbrighton is so much better going forward and covering a weak full back.He is not a long term solution but for half a season he will do a job.

Definitely better at covering his fb, but Barnes is miles ahead going forward. Saying that, he was terrible in all aspects of the game today. That was like Musa vs Millwall performance.

For me

Barnes is better at beating his man and getting in goal scoring positions.

Albrighton is better at

1 - Shooting

2 - Crossing

3 - Defending

The Albrighton pro's are more suitable for games like Liverpool in my opinion.

Liverpool first half we seemed to have a strategy of putting crosses in yet our two best crossers werent on the pitch (fuchs and albrighton).

He's young and developed by the club so naturally he's a scapegoat, along with Chilwell.

Clearly the best way for these players to develop is to slate them at every given opportunity.

Albrighton and Gray all of a sudden are the answer to our problems.

They were all shite tonight, thankfully we have a game in 2 days where if we win all will be okay again.

Yeah Barnes undoubtedly gets a massive free pass because he's homegrown. Gray would be getting absolutely slaughtered if he'd put in Barnes' performances this season.

Gray does put it as bad performances. And he does get stick. Difference is we’ve seen a lot more of gray than we have Barnes in previous seasons.
