Russell sprout Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Tragically died in a car crash today, only 35 and part of the Sevilla team, remember him for arsenal and was a great player, rest in peace
Izzy Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 So sad. Enjoyed watching him at Arsenal and seemed like a decent bloke. Enjoy every day folks, you never know when your time is up.
Libertine Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Awful. Loved watching that Arsenal team and always remember him coming into the team as a youngun. Terrible news.
Danizen Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Rest In Peace. Such an exciting player in his prime and he seemed like a humble bloke.
Nalis Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Thought he was a very gifted player technically. No time to go, RIP.
Tielemans63 Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Rest in peace Jose. A reminder that life is precious. Thoughts are with his family.
Jimothy Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 RIP. So sad. 35 is no age. Sounds like he was just about embark on the next step of life too, becoming at coach at Arsenal. Felt he always struggled at Arsenal, but he had moments, including a great goal v Chelsa in the cup. Think he got both goals in that game actually.

stripeyfox Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 apparently two other members of his family in the car were also killed. Talk online that he was driving at nearly 200kmh at the time of the crash (unconfirmed)

Koke Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 35 is no age. I'm 35 with a young family. Can only assume it's the same for him. Very sad. Won 5 Europa Leagues (2 with Atleti & 3 with Sevilla). I mostly remember him for scoring the 4-3 winner against Middlesbrough in the Invincible season, as well as the Man Utd team putting horrific two footers on him because they couldn't handle him.
Wymsey Posted 1 June 2019 Posted 1 June 2019 Saddening. RIP. If the speeding reports are true, there was no real reason for him to have done it, but very tragic event. Certainly not that it matters after this, but pretty sure he was linked with LCFC a few seasons back?
Mark 'expert' Lawrenson Posted 2 June 2019 Posted 2 June 2019 Very sad news, I remember him at Arsenal when he burst on to the scene around the same time Ronaldo did at Man Utd, Reyes was as good for a while, sad loss.
moore_94 Posted 3 June 2019 Posted 3 June 2019 Still a sad event but my sympathy has very much decreased, play stupid games win stupid prizes. He was doing 237kph (147mph).
ozleicester Posted 5 June 2019 Posted 5 June 2019 200+ kph Edit ..........risking the lives of others Cockend
KrefelderFox666 Posted 5 June 2019 Posted 5 June 2019 10 hours ago, ozleicester said: 200+ kph Edit ..........risking the lives of others Cockend The sad thing is, he got punished but also paid the ultimate price. However, he took the gamble and lost. No sympathy. Sympathy must go to all those innocent people that have consequently been affected (the other passengers - who arguable could have prevented the reckless driving but they are not in control, family members, any people involved in the crash - be that witnesses, rescue services etc.). Just an act of stupidity which unfortunately is all too common. Someone like Reyes could afford to rent a racetrack if he wants to drive like a d1ck. Unfortunately for him, he cannot learn from his mistake. Hopefully this can be a lesson to people, at least make them think twice before risking lives outside of their own.
Bayfox Posted 5 June 2019 Posted 5 June 2019 Read some stuff on a fb group I follow about him holidaying in Ibiza and being a real gent and down to earth, so when I 1st saw this my 1st thoughts were RIP and how tragic at a young age. But that speed certainly changes my perspective on it. Especially as he had others in the car with him.
