.  I like Sweet Caroline, it is fun to sing to an supporters can participate!!!

The problem is that it is another club's anthem and therefore not something that we should be looking to incorporate pre or post match.

  Still love the song though.

What club?

I thought WYS was ace…. Just caught me by surprise last night!

I know I’ll get slaughtered, but I think WYS is total rubbish. We’re at a football match not a funeral, totally uninspiring. Boring as hell particularly the JB version. Hopefully the players never hear it.

I’ve been going 60 years and can’t understand why people would want to sing such a downbeat song. it’s not the words, it’s the arrangement. Painful listening to our rendition, you’ve obviously had a skinful if you think it’s sang well and uplifting.

You miserable old git 😂

I noticed a few people in the Musical Traditions poll thread I started saying uncharacteristically complimentary things about the Welsh. Nice. But you know what the key to a good atmosphere and good singing is at the Millennium Stadium? Bread of Heaven, Delilah, Hymns and Arias, songs that literally everyone knows and everyone enjoys joining in on - even old Mrs Jones down the front.

Yma O Hyd....

Not me. I loathe Neil Diamond with a passion. Awful song.

Is literally my email address lol

Seemed like a great idea at first until I realised I'd spend the rest of my life spelling it out to English people.

One of the all time great crowd anthems. :trumpet:

Was really stirring. I've come round to liking the Jersey Budd version and think there's room to sing WYS both ways.

Sweet Anodyne needs to get to fvck though. Bring back Ready To Go - now that gets the blood pumping.

Anyone with a problem with WYS, surely you want our club to have its own song, no? The chances of us adopting another song that you much prefer is very, very unlikely to happen so surely its better we actually get behind a version of a song long associated with our club?

I agree and think WYS is a good idea before kick off - what I think is a bit odd is people needing it so desperately like their lives depend on it, tweeting the club, emailing the club etc. If it wasn't played last night a section of our fans would have demonstrated outside the boardroom. We're all grown men and women here, why a song will make or break peoples experience at the KP is beyond me tbh

How can the club be expected to know what their fans want unless they contact them about it?

Great from the club to play it. I just have to question what they are trying to achieve drowning out the fans who are trying to generate an atmosphere pre-game with noise of the music and the videos. Sweet Caroline can get in the bin.

I suspect that the idea is to get everyone singing off the same hymm sheet at the same time instead of 20 fans singing one thing and 20 fans singing another

I think the fact it gives us a unique identity different to other clubs is something appealing to me, I have no issues with Sweet Caroline, but to me it is and will always be a song for country matches (what ever country that maybe is your choice) rather than a club song. Also despite singing WYS into my 5th decade I actually like the Jersey Budd version and when I hear it I always think to myself……. “My team” and that’s what I want.

Also let’s be honest and say at least the club are taking note and listening to our input and ideas as fans around these matters

just remember it could be “under the moon of love!!!”

No - it does sound crap.

Never heard is sung in the ground either (that I could tell what it was anyway) - have been a ST holder for 10 years.

I believe Boots do hearing tests - I'd suggest making an appointment.

We're supporters of the club, we should be able to put our ideas forward to them.

I don't think one song does "make or break experiences" tbh I just think people want to hear associated City stuff.

That's exactly it. Are the club OK about playing anything Kasabian related?

If they're that bothered about playing with the whole Tom Meighan thing, I'm sure they could commission a re-record with Serge.

I don't see why Kasabian as a band are blacklisted
