volpeazzurro Posted 8 July 2019 Posted 8 July 2019 I take it by the lack of mention of his actual name in his thread for some considerable time that our 30yrs old £80,000 a week Premiership flop is still with us. Where are all the agents when you need them? Apart from his home made video of him lifting his weights so that he can crush a grape, is he due to join our Squad abroad in their pre-season activities?

Arriba Los Zorros Posted 8 July 2019 Posted 8 July 2019 Win-win situation for us here IMO. If he stays we have a back-up in the CM 'number 8' role with the potential to be international quality, and not being the main man means he can have time to adapt to the English game. If he goes, money in the bank for us. It would be slightly better if he went but if he doesn't we're not in another Ahmed Musa situation where he is just a complete waste of a squad place.

He's been a waste of space when I've watched him. At least with Musa that far up the pitch he didn't really effect anything. Silva couldn't even see let alone track any opposition players and was easily knocked off the ball. Anything other than a short pass was a wayward one, he was a complete liability. With Ndidi, Mendy, and Choudhury there's no chance of a place in a defensive role which is supposedly his preferred position (if fit James would usurp him as well). Just because he's crap there doesn't mean he'd miraculously fit in a number 8 role, he'd be way way too slow in thought and deed. We need rid or loan ASAP.
fuchsntf Posted 8 July 2019 Posted 8 July 2019 I think.for himself he should go. He can still give a good European team a few seasons, and still have a last hurrah for Portugal....End his career on a high..

He needs to go imo. He is clogging up the wage bill and he needs to be moved on.
st albans fox Posted 8 July 2019 Posted 8 July 2019 He isn’t in France at the camp - he isnt coming back interesting to see what we get for him as far as the wage bill is concerned, wherever he goes, we will have to top up what they can pay him for the remainder of his contract (therefore expect the fee to be lower to reflect some of that)
