You would get my vote if there was ever a thread started called ‘Name the FoxesTalk member that you’d happily share a beer with’ :worship:

After watching maguire take 35 minutes to run from the half way line to our box, it was refreshing to have a rapid CB. He definitely got us out the shit a few times. Really well played.

Easy MOTM for me, outstanding throughout. It’s funny that pre match everyone felt like he had a mistake in him and yet if anything his defending was his best attribute today. Actually because of his haircut and play style he was very reminiscent of a young Puyol.

Impressive performance!

Was going to say Ricardo was our best player, but I think the reality is we would've lost if Soyuncu hadn't played a blinder.

So yeah, MOTM for me. Great start.

After seeing him play the preseason games, I replied to the thread you put on the transfer forums about him and not to toot my own horn. I'm glad I set my stall out early in regards to Cags. Something about him was classy... And now we have people comparing him to Puyol... They're wrong of course. That hair is pure Maldini

In reality, would have been greedy getting another CB when Soyuncu clearly is a decent player

On the basis of todays performance we really didn't need one. If Maguire had stayed we would have had a bottleneck at CB. If Benkovik is on the same level as Soyuncu we are going to be just fine.

Really happy for him. Great 90mins and hope he gets a lot of confidence from this performance. He'll make mistakes in the future but I firmly believe we need to stick with him.

Passed the first test against dangerous opposition. Bailed out Ben Chilwell on a couple of occasions. There will be tougher tests to come but a solid performance and a clean sheet against Wolves is an excellent way to start. Well done Caglar.

Well done Soyuncu! Still a bit rash and got turned too easily on occasion, but such a promising display and goes a long way to proving all the doubters who wanted us to splash out on a Maguire replacement wrong.

Played very well today, hopefully he’s settled into the Maguire role. Covered the wasteful Chilwell with aplomb...
