He's looking routinely awful now. Cash in if we can.

He's certainly gone off the boil (even after an inconsistent beginning with us).

These days, he just puts in one DREADFUL performance after another. Snap out of it Ayoze!

probably worse than slimani both costing 30m. everyone goes on about us and our recruitment lol good jobs they forget transfers like this

It's very hit and miss, though the hits outweigh the misses thankfully, but we seem to deal in extremes on both sides..

He's not a wide player. Whenever he's came off the bench and played central (behind the striker) this season he's looked good.

I feel like we definitely signed him to play out wide, which is baffling, but when he plays centrally I'm definitely a fan - offers a lot to the squad in that position.

I think he’s actually worse centrally because he struggles to even get on the ball. That is a very charitable post - for me he is a squad utility player who can play in a number of positions, but is nowhere near good enough to start for us (if we are serious about being a good side).

I think he’s a cracking squad player that on current form shouldn’t be starting for us against top half PL teams. That said, he will continue to start until we have convincing and reliable alternatives, which is why we need another striker, another right sided forward, a DCM and an attacking/creative mid (maybe Tavares can do this) to be competing close to being able to field quality in all competitions.

I'd be surprised if there was a single fan at the time who thought Perez was good business at the fee we paid. It always seemed a strange option to lavish funds on as he'd done very little with Newcastle really.

It's balls when transfers don't work out, but he's had significantly more opportunities than Under and he was chosen as a focal point when Vardy was injured rather than Iheanacho. Both of those facts seem bizarre given the paucity of his performances (especially recently).

Unsurprisingly, he seems very low on confidence. The problem I have, is that a fully confident Perez still seems below the level of starting 11 player we should aspire to, and I don't mean that to sound like an entitled fan.

He's had his good games, just not nearly enough of them. Lacks any consistent influence in games to be starting in attack really. An option from the bench for me, but not a starter as things stand.

As much as he’s a likeable bloke, he’s really not good enough. That, however, doesn’t mean it’s excusable for people to be giving him dogs abuse on social media.

I would move him on in the summer, our right hand side still needs serious work in the summer as I can’t see that Under will be retained either. Two new players are definitely needed for the right wing in the summer.

let’s just treat all players fairly - otherwise the fans (and I suspect the players) will just resent the guy.

How many others have 95 pages of constant berating of the player?

I think the point being made was that one of the reasons you have so many fans berating the player is that the manager seems to favor him.

Perez is the new scapegoat.  He may get sympathy cards from Gray and Chilwell, both of whom I defended several times.

I don't think people should be personal about Perez but he is below the quality of the rest of the team.  I also think his confidence is at a low ebb.

I hope he recovers quickly from his injury.

Yesterday, I found myself raising my voice at the television and insulting him.  He had the ball on swift counter attack.  I think three of our players had sprinted into promising players.  Indecisively, Perez delayed releasing the ball before gamely passing sideways to a Brighton player.  Such moments of indecisiveness are common from him.

He has value to the squad until the end of the season as we are challenged by the injury situation.  For me that value lies with him being a  effective sub when required, coming on late and bringing fresh energy.  At the end of the season, we should look to move him on as part of the evolution of the squad.

He has flashes of brilliance but right now something is really off with him. He takes too many touches, seems riddled with uncertainty on what to do and is an absolute liability. How he went from having an opening inside Brighton's box to a possible penalty to getting booked in a matter of milliseconds was extraordinary.

What I find odd is players like Perez and Mendy seem to go from being completely out the picture to being back involved to being back out again but there's not really any correlation on performance that decides that. Perez cannot be satisfying the coaches with these displays surely? I mean just how bad must he have been at the start of the season in training to be pretty much told he's not being considered for the first team until he works on his game. Its baffling.

After being rested for a few games he seemed to come back in with a bit of hunger and I thought he looked good. BR even said that he had asked for more and it finally looked like he was going to get it. I have supported Perez for his work rate and link up play but it hasn’t worked for him playing up front on his own the last couple of games and last night he was poor ( so were quite a few others tbf).

I am now convinced that we have others who do things better such as Albrighton who works harder than anyone and Nacho up front who at least is getting goals.

Still think he is decent enough for the squad but his time as a regular starter has to be in doubt now. We don’t seem to know what his best role is and we have better for all of them.

Just because you're the weakest player in the squad doesn't automatically make you a "scapegoat". He's started the last 6 games and not scored or assisted once in that time, that's not "scapegoating", that's just pointing out how he's struggling badly.

Thought he could become a linking forward but as others said, he dwells too much on the ball and despite his technical ability, seems unwilling to push the ball into space to keep the move progressing.

I was wrong, but still hope he recovers from his injury quickly.

He was dispossessed 28 times in 4 days,

Where’s that stat come from? According to whoscored he was dispossessed twice against wolves and 3 times last night

Maybe he conceded possession that many times rather than being directly dispossessed. @Stadt

4 stray passes and 3 dispossessions last night

7 stray passes and 2 dispossessions against wolves

Cool, happy to be corrected, I'll edit my original post to something more accurate.

I think he means that now he's not in form, every little mistake is under the microscope so we notice it a hell of a lot more. When you're in form and misplace a pass, nobody cares. But whenever Perez does the same it's the end of the world.

He needs to be taken out of the team for a few weeks IMO. Hopefully he can get a goal or something against Prague because his confidence is clearly on it's arse.

According to football critic, against Wolves he lost possession 12 times with a 63% pass completion. Against Brighton, he lost possession 11 times with a 84% pass completion.
