Deeg67 Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 I think this formation could work with Perez in place of either Barnes or Albrighton - he can play wide if the formation is properly set up for it. But the point is that the diamond doesn’t work, two holding mids doesn’t work. Everything opens up when we play with width. Chelsea and Man U. are entirely pedestrian - everything after Arsenal is there for the taking. There’s no reason we shouldn’t be the ones to take it.
Harry96 Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 It’s so obvious we need a very good winger to make that next step up.

Guest WarehamFox Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 Vardy plays like that in the next game Harry will be in trouble.
Mickey O'Neil Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 The Spuds game will be tougher than Manure. That’s not to say I’m taking Manure lightly because I’m not. They can turn if it clicks, it just feels like a good time to play them before they get their sh/t together. We know Vardy is going to torment their No.5. Outside the the top two, Spuds have been a peters consistent performer for a few years. I’d take 4 from 6 out of these two.
Babylon Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 Vardy... what a performance! Vintage Vardy from years ago, absolutely tearing the pitch up. Must have had an extra red bull.

If we win at OT then people may start looking at us a little differently this year. Let's go and show them that we are a genuine contender for the European places.
Cadno'r Cymoedd Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 Am delighted with the result today. Looking forward to MOTD. 😁
TrentFox Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 It will probably go under the radar a tad, but thought it was a brave and top decision from BR to drop Perez. He’s taken £30m of the chairman’s money - knowing that same chairman was in attendance - and benched him as he’s been average. Loving that ruthlessness.
TheUltimateWinner Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 My absolute favourite moment of the game was in the second half when Soyuncu had a moment of brilliance defending, kept Wilson at bay and won a free kick. Around 5 players came over and congratulated him. Our team looks like it’s got great spirit within it. Love this team.

Someone said here the other day that everytime a new manager was appointed Albrighton gets dropped but then would realise what a gem Albrighton is. So true.

crisp packet Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 Better team performance, every had a decent game. Thought BR got his subs spot on ,grey done well on his 1st performance on the season. JAMIE VARDY ,take a bow!!!

Tielemans definitely got away with that one imo but improved display from him too. He wasn't very good first half but came alive in the 2nd, I lost count of the amount of under hit passes he made, but all came good in the 2nd half.
smr Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 Anyone else feel knackered after football? I only park 20 mins away so im sure its not the walk but the exertion watching the game? Great 3 points. Said itd be either 3-0 or 3-1 today just one of those games where we play like we did. Everyone pld well and i thought grey looked good when he came on too. Could easily be 3 wins and a draw but 2w 2d is a great start. Brendan spot on with tactics and subs/timings. Clever management.
Guest Manini Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 I don’t want this to seem reactive, as I’m sure he’ll make some howlers too... but it makes such a difference having a manager like Rodgers who reads the game and changes things when he needs to, to control the game. More often than not he gets his tactics just right, and even when he doesn’t you can see he has a plan and what he’s trying to do.
MPH Posted 31 August 2019 Posted 31 August 2019 where to start.. so many positives! we have more growth to come we turned over a team not even getting out of third gear. vardy back in form. so many options in midfield to keep everyone on their toes. Soyuncu Ricky P Chilly with a belter of a pass Man U and Chelsea looking vulnerable- door is open for a Euro spot! I love the whole team The future is bright!!
