In one clip, Maddison is seen dancing with his hands in the air as waitresses deliver four bottles of £6,750-a-bottle Dom Perignon champagne ordered to his VIP area.

The purchases were followed by huge bottles of Grey Goose vodka at £2,708 each.

Isn't that stuff you can buy in Wetherspoons?

After tax that's like one of his week's wage spent on booze (unless he went halves with Chilly)

It's like any of us spending our weekly wage (let's say £400) on a night out.

He's living like a billionaire.

Hey. Nothing wrong with a little games workshop in your life.

For me there’s a difference between this sort of thing in the summer and the winter break.

In the summer, go and do whatever you want. Spend your money, party hard and hang out with whoever you want to. But when we think about why this winter break exists, it’s because footballers supposedly need a rest to recuperate. And it doesn’t look like he’s living like an athlete right now.

I appreciate that The Sun is gutter press and will always sensationalise but there has to be something there for them to build on. When the likes of Grealish and Alli are being held up as the “well they’re doing it too” then it’s not the finest company to be in in terms of the living-like-a-pro mentality. If we were talking about the likes of Kane and Milner doing this then it would be a different story, but it always seems a certain type that put themselves in a position to be the story.

If you asked Brendan what he’d ideally have liked to see his players doing this week then I’m sure it wouldn’t have entailed partying and been more so about resting up, getting some sun and sticking to the kind of diet they’d be on at any other time during the season.

Foolish to have put himself in a position to be this headline. He was already a marked man following the casino story, scrutiny on his form will now be ten-fold and there’ll be a decision next year by clubs: give the players time to do as they please or take the Man United approach of a week of warm weather training.

An article designed to rile up the average Sun reader. Young man, living his best life, who plays football for a living, knocking about with attractive female. The cherry on top is telling people how much he supposedly gets paid.

Gutter press.

Gutter people..!!!   Who  have a problem..!!!

He’s there for a few days. Haven’t we all lived above our means once in a while?

I certainly don’t imagine he’s living hand to mouth and his bank balance will be very healthy.

If I saved £200 a week for 3 months and bought an expensive watch, am I living above what I can afford because I spent a few grand on it in one purchase?

Does your employer dictate how you should spend your time off? I do understand what you’re saying to a certain extent but as long as he comes back fit then who cares. If he doesn’t then he’ll be disciplined. He’s probably had two nights on the booze max. IV treatment the day after no doubt.

A few players have said it’s as much about getting away from football as much as it’s about resting their bodies. If he comes back mentally refreshed in the same physical state that he left in, then there isn’t much of an issue.

Let’s not make a mountain out of a molehill. If he’s clearly lagging in games then fair play. Plenty of players drink weekly, but because it’s not Golden Boy (who The Sun seem to have it in for), we don’t hear about it.

The difference is we go out every week and he rarely gets the chance to go out. The lads earnt the right to spend his dosh however he likes.

If this was every month maybe he needs a word in the ear but a few times a year, go nuts.

Im sure most would act the same as him at his age. ... in fact clearly others are doing just that (Barkley, Ali, grealish all out there as well)

As long as he and all of the other players come back in the right mindset and are firing on all cylinders, I don’t mind the odd blowout. These days footballers have to maintain their bodies at optimal levels for a ridiculous period of time. I get that they paid a big amount to do something they (hopefully) enjoy, but on a general level it must be so monotonous at times.

Glad he's enjoying his hols.  It takes sacrifice to be an elite athlete so when the opportunity comes  along to behave like a normal kid in his early twenties, he should take it.  The only thing that I find a bit sickening is the prices of those drinks.  If that's true, it's all a bit 'look at me' and if he has got ten grand to basically throw away, he could do so much good with it.  Perhaps he does, I dunno.

Fvcking hell some people (either on here or not) really do worry about the smallest of things.

He's a enjoying his holidays ffs. He's not committing a crime by drinking and having a good time.

It's like someone following you to Benidorm or Magaluf on your well-earned time off and taking pictures of you downing some dirty shots.

Literally no difference. If he was doing this 1 or 2 days before a big match then yeah have a go. But this was quite a few days before and while they're on their holiday which they're entitled to.

Calm down.  That is what everyone else is saying.  You're ranting preaching to the converted.  I can't find anybody having a go at him for enjoying himself and letting off steam.

Some of the comments above @murphy.

I'm glad I'm preaching to the converted! In addition to above seen a lot on Twitter that he's acted badly. Mountains and molehills come to mind!
