Fair points however, it's likely part of his inconsistency was his lack of game time. The one time he had an extended run, he was electric and very very difficult to defend against

As for Enzo, Kels has credit in the bank. Enzo not. He was handed every possible advantage a manager could ever wish for. Money, squad strength, squad depth, weak opposition....and yet still lost a quarter of his games. The manager hasn't got goodwill from me that Kels has, who's done it at the top level

So Enzo get us promoted and wins a championship but doesn’t have credit in the bank over a player who had an electric half a season and for the majority of his time has blown hot and cold and in this season has done little to contribute when given the chance.

I don't know what I'm more pissed off about. The fact that we even offered him a new deal or that fact that he had the audacity to turn it down!

First and foremost I like strikers to be capable of scoring goals before being shithouses. Maupay is only good for the latter and posting on X about it.

In terms of a backup striker, we could do worse and I wouldn't mind a couple of nasty types and battlers. We'll need a bit of dark arts about us next season. I wouldn't want him leading the line, but a season on loan like he's had at Brentford? There are worse options for depth. I do think we should go out for Szmodics, mind.

We haven't offered anyone anything yet. Imagine getting pissed off about something that hasn't happened. Peak Frank Doberman.

he really should have dominated this league but at times barely looked Sunday league level, good luck to him, though if he's really joining Villa he clearly doesn't care too much about starting

Can't keep players around out of sentimentality and hope. The club's dire financial situation should be sharpening minds very quickly if they aren't already. We have to clear the decks ASAP and take the hit on capital to rein that salary spend well below where it was 12 months ago. Next season we will definitely get a points penalty meaning the team will need to be able to perform like a top 8 team just to remain safe. It's a tall ask and one that Nacho just won't be able to play his part in.

Don't be so sure it'll require that. -6 is what's likely and I expect Forest to be in a worse situation than us player wise. They're having to sell and already have a poor team. Provided Ipswich don't do too well, we only need a couple of others to have a shocker.

I think the teams capable of it and we are at our best in situations like this.

Weirdest take from a season of weird takes.

I can't disagree with this. Those saying we're getting -10, -12 plus haven't been paying attention to the other cases; the Premier League tries to go on hard and gets argued down at arbitration. Everton would have 17 taken if the Premier League had had its way, they've had 8 over two deductions. They wanted to take 8 from Forest and they got 4, with speculation they'll get at least one back on appeal. In that context, trying to give us a 10 point deduction simply won't fly. For me, -6 is the most realistic scenario. It could even be pessimistic if Forest get points back on appeal.

I would say we have a pretty decent chance of staying up even with a six point deduction. Forest are a poor side who would have been relegated pretty much any other season bar this one, Brentford are in decline and set to lose Toney in the summer, Ipswich will likely have a rude awakening at Premier League level and none of the teams in the playoffs, with the possible exception of Leeds, look anything like good enough to stay up without massive investment. Finish second in that effective mini-league of five and we stay up.

Everything we don’t need. Will still want a wage above his value and I’d question his hunger. We need new blood.  I’d rather see young hungry lads playing above the likes of him and Daka who have absolutely stolen a living for two years off us.

Much as I’ve liked him over the years, think it is time to part ways. Has underwhelmed this season, had hasn’t always seemed interested. Loved his VAR goal against Everton, his goals to get us to the cup final, and his penalty to win the charity shield.

Being  a free agent makes him attractive to quite a few clubs who think they can they can release his potential & pick him up on the cheap. Nacho will get decent money as well because the club doesn't have to pay a fee for him.

Leicester should have sold him last Summer for whatever was offered.    We gained nothing by hanging on to him.

I'd be deeply worried if the club did that.

Enzo said earlier in the season that the club were talking about a new deal with him.

Doesn't matter what was offered to us, if the player refuses to leave, nothing can be done. No way any other club would have met what he is earning here.

That he turned it down is good news as far as I'm concerned.

So weird that I wanted to keep Nacho but let Ndidi leave last summer. How wrong I was!

We have always been waiting for Nacho to kick on and become our starting No.9 and find his mojo...

Turns out, he only has 1 gear and will most likely never be able to change it.

Still rank him as a very good finisher, but nearly every other part of his game is barely even Championship worthy.

Can't fault his attitude over the years, when he barely played, but looking back now, maybe that was also part of his problem - Just didn't care enough!

Good luck in (probably) Turkey Nachoman! Will miss his banter with Ndidi, but that is about it.
