My fear with Kel is that as soon as we revert back to one up top, we get the same kind of performance he's previously put in.

He is outstanding with someone up top with him but he just can't play as a loan striker.

We might need to start looking at playing two up top permanently with either means a back 3 like today or 442.

It was clear before the game we wouldn’t need another midfielder / protector for the match, bearing in mind and with all due respect, the opposition midfielders were not collectively premier league standard.

It will be very interesting how we set up against the best midfield in the division on April 3rd. The romantic in me hopes we risk it and play two up top, but the pragmatist thinks we will overload midfield and force them wide.

It's not beyond the realms if man City see us as a real threat, weaken us and it's above board, and they could sell him on for more than the buy back.

They'd spend £50 million on our second choice striker  just to weaken us?

After last week I was thinking it's only a matter of time until the buyback clause is discussed again. Jeesh. Control yourself lads. You're wreaking of irrational exuberance. Just be happy that he's putting some goals in and helping us get results. 3 games over the course of 3.5 years is glitter; not gold.

I can see Man City recalling ihanacho either this summer or next summer.....

That buy back clause is bullshit.

Honestly we need to sell ihanacho to Leuven in the summer and buy him back in January to cancel that buy back clause with Man City.

Shithouse way to do things but legal.

Business is business

"Recalling" ? it wasn`t a loan deal ! the buy back clause has expired so everyone can relax :-)

The buy back clause never expires unless he is sold to another club.

Buy back clauses do not expire.

Re. the buy back clause:

Regardless of what Man C want, Nacho would (presumably) have to agree to the move? Can't see that being likely having been discarded by them previously.

Nacho we are interested in having you back at Man City now you have matured abit and finding form.

We are prepared to offer you 200k a week and there is a chance we will win multiple Premier league titles and fa cups as well.

Choice is yours.

I don't think Nacho has a choice in this. Didn't Real Madrid use their buy back in a player just so they could immediately seem him for a higher price? This was a few years ago.

If the buy back is £50m though it probably won't be too much of a problem either way.

He doesn't come across as someone motivated by money and he would know there's a real risk of not getting game time.

It's all pure speculation, though - no use losing any sleep over ifs, buts and maybes.

I dont think anyone is losing sleep over it but it a concern.

50m for a in form striker in the next year or so will be peanuts.

On another note as much as people want to admit it or not everyone is motivated by money its human nature

It should actually be tied into his contract. Should we get him to sign another we could just remove the clause.

Well they do if it's stipulated that it isn't indefinite which we're led to believe is the case here, and have been told since we first showed an interest.
