City 1-1 Villa - Post Match

Recommended Posts

Annoying. Southampton will shithouse a win on Saturday if we play the same system and players.

Chilwell and Tielemans had off night. Happy for Nacho.

3 at the back against a team with no striker was also dumb.

Prefer us away from home this season so going away not behind is a plus, although you want to take a lead. Had enough shots to make something happen.

Choudhury has to play with Ndidi out, he gave a real spark, Iheanacho again making a good impact, Chilwell and Tielemans not at the races at all.

We weren't great but there was only one football team on that pitch. They're such a one man team it's funny.

Really stupid goal to give away, no surprise Chilwell didn't defend the far post, and once you do that you make it hard against a team with 10 players on the edge of their box.

Disappointing but we'll beat them at Villa Park, we're miles better away from home

Just now, st albans fox said:

They can just play for pens ....

anyway, it was Youri’s fault ..... everyone says so ...........I believe everyone .......

Defend him as much as you want but he was horrific today and he's been rubbish most of the season.

He's our record signing, yet he's done less since we bought him than slimani did for us.

Time he was dropped. He isn't even in our top 6 midfielders.

not too upset about that, said in the pre match thread they will obviously be here to defend. as long as we didn’t lose they cannot just defend at home. they have to try and score and then we can make mugs of them.

hamza was excellent. if wilf isn’t back then he has to start next time seen as nobody else on our team seemed to have any idea how to tackle jack grealish.

So disappointed in that. Why is Chillwell so afraid of crossing the ball into the box, he just seems content to receive the ball and pass it backwards, it breaks down any momentum. He was better in the second half but also YT needs a good look at himself. Hamza was the game changer as he was always looking to go forwards. But really we made them look good. Wank!

Before we get to talking about how shit we are, how shit Rodgers is, how we could now slide to eventual relegation...

Fair ****ing play to Aston Villa. It takes some serious bollocks to turn up at a team who have pumped you 4-1 at home and defend like that for 80 minutes, with all their injuries, AND to nick one without a striker on the pitch. Just fair play.

The second leg is going to be very lively I reckon. Got a feeling of Cardiff/Watford away about me. We had two terrible days on those occasions so 3rd time lucky. UTB

NEVER EVER EVER PLAY CHILWELL AS A WINGBACK AGAIN. ****ing useless.

Other than that I'll take it.

Spineless and no ability whatsoever.

Cant defend, can’t pass, and chooses constantly to put the ball by choice on his right foot when he’s left footed ffs.

Rodgers ****ed up big time again; why leave him on when he was a complete liability from start to finish?

We missed big Wilf today; Hamza should have been in from the start as a direct replacement. Good to have Kel as a sub but I would go with him upfront from the start with Vards as we did in the league. All to play for and still in the tie!

Judging by the match thread, you'd think these stats were flipped in Villa's favor.

The weight of expectation I'm afraid. Not many people gave Villa a chance before the match, but they ground out the draw and they will be happy with that. A lot happier than that match thread.
