No political discussion in this topic. That is complaining about a country, a politician, a party and/or its voters, etc

David “son of God, lizard people” Icke? I always find people either don’t really pay attention to conspiracy theories or they seem to believe all of them. I think in general a belief in conspiracies says more about the person than the theory. Numerous studies show certain traits pop up more often amongst theorists....

That is not to say some may not be true but I haven’t seen anything compelling with regards to Covid-19. X

That's him!  Whilst some of the things he say's is quite outlandish, some of it is quite compelling.  I do think we (as a society) should question things more instead of taking everything the mainstream media say as "official" and sticking it all over facebook.

It'd be interesting to see the recovery rates of those who end up on a ventilator.

Are there any figures of survival for those slipping so deep that they need artificial breathing apparatus?

I believe that the majority of those who go onto a ventilator don’t come out of this. Normal respiratory disease patients going onto a ventilator have a 30% mortality rate. Initial assessments of cv19 from Wuhan was 90%.

obviously data is hard to come by because some patients  are on ventilators for weeks before dying ....

Or you can be like the vast majority and have no or mild symptoms... no matter what money you have or even a ventilator, you cant suddenly change your immune system,  people on ventilators are still dying.

I get that ....my response was a tad flippant, especially on the ventilator aspect. It does irk me that some people make a big deal that those with influence automatically get special treatment ....... of course they do ..... it’s not rocket science !

If mortality really is at 90%.....it does kinda demand the question, are the extra respirators needed?

You’re going to save some  lives ...... that 90% was from Wuhan .........I guess the hope is that we stumble upon some drugs that alleviate the pneumonia to allow more to survive .....

Find it surprising that leaders approval ratings are going up in this crisis - I genuinely thought it would be the opposite.

What was the news about the lockdown? Are we extending beyond the initial three weeks?

Nothing said yet but that's absolutely guaranteed.

These UK stats make no sense to me. How can there be only 163 current serious or critical cases when there are over 500 deaths per day?

Almost all places don’t provide the breakdown of mild/critical cases so there are no figures to work from. Same for ‘recovered’.

There are way, way more than 163 in intensive care units across the country.

I hope Professor Sikora is right. Imo, the government should do what it takes to stop this evil thing in its tracks. Saving lives is more important than civil liberties and the economy at present. Those things can be fixed later.

Only yesterday it was revealed that another 38 patients had died at either Northwick Park or Ealing hospitals, which are both relatively close to North Acton station. The trust that runs the hospitals has seen more deaths of patients with coronavirus than any other trust in the country.

The people who are now dying were infected a week or so before the lockdown, probably longer .....the data the professor is quoting will show through on deaths occurring three/four weeks from now ........

im really not surprised to see a hot spot in west London around Acton - the population has high Indian sub continent numbers which will have many older people. In my experience, the older generation from the sub continent have a lot of issues with cardio vascular problems.  I imagine that the Leicester hospitals are also on alert re this but one hopes that the lock down has come early enough to help in the east midlands.

This comes more from Frustration & Annoyance than any forethought, but it has to be asked...

Why..like our soldiers Protection Equivalent are the various Frontline Hospitals and carers, lacking in PPE's..

What have These so self-important high earning,( many, much more than Medical staff themselves) Admin-staff been and are doing,

Is this Now The Time they should be Stepping up to the plate...We have heard over All these years of Hospital private Admin-management critical Work in

supporting Hospital and Medical workers behind the scenes....

Now either Information and truth  is being bogged down on Political cynism,or again Frontline public service personelle are being again Short changed on life-saving protection necessities....

Don t anybody start trying to do the numbers..!!! Its pathetic and does ask questions und put rightly Governments und others  in the firing line..

Especially After listening in All different languages from various Governements ( Advantage  of travel and Learning languages) then the biggest Chest-thumpers

USA,cant supply their priority Front-line workers.....Time for Admins & Logistics Management to get their Fingers out, instead of searching for Short cuts und excuses....!!!!

But the opposite of conspiracy theorists is not to blindly believe what a load of politicians tell me or the tabloids or Facebook? It is reasoned understanding. For example, I don’t believe in climate change because Arnie tells me I should or the minister for the environment. I believe in it because 99% of scientists believe it to be true and all available data points that way. I feel like the “don’t believe what you’re told by the man” argument spouted by a lot of people prone to believing in conspiracies is a strawman and a dishonest argument. It’s about reasoned, critical debate and deep understanding of a subject, something David Icke has never displayed. Not having a go at you by the way just conspiracy theorists and the worrying “don’t trust the experts” mob annoy me. X

No no, i totally get where you're coming from.  I'm not a conspiracy theorist by the way, i merely got sent his video and thought it might be worth sharing to see what my fellow foxes thought of it.  It did however make me think a bit more about certain things.  I don't have a deep enough understanding of climate change or the coronavirus virus to have a reasoned debate about it, and i wouldn't just blindly believe a man who offers one side of complex subjects, it just offered a complete opposite of what I'd been told in the mainstream.
