Filip Benkovic to Bristol City (loan)

Recommended Posts

Good luck to him.

Really hope he can get some good experience and stays injury-free.

We may need him in a more important role next season with the extra games we'll have. Will be important to get his confidence back in as well given his injuries and time out here.

A side fighting for promotion in the championship, play a decent style of football too. Another set of experience in a different league to help get him up and running.

Hopefully he can get some games and show what he's made of. Physically tough league with some quality sides should help to acclimatise him to the English leagues.

I am a Leicester fan living in Bristol, so maybe I will go to a game to watch. Rarely been down to see an actual Leicester game in Leicester.

So the irony is I might see him play for 61 minutes, more than a season ticket holder!

Unless you've been to see the U23's play :)

What was the point of spending £13M on him?

It's a loan to a good side pushing for promotion, great experience - it's not a sale, City win all round. This will make him a better player either for us - win, or to increase his value for another team if we sell - win.

And if he doesn't cut it? Well he won't have done us any damage in our push for the CL - another win 😊

So loaning him out to Celtic didn't really work as he returned injured to us, done very little since and now loaned out again. How can that be a win win?

Because if he stays here he'll be on the subs bench mostly, would you play him in preference to Evans and Soyuncu? At Bristol he should get regular football which will serve not only to give him experience but also test his ability to stay fit and uninjured. If all goes well he can them have a full uninjured preseason with us.

Look at Chelsea that have dozens of these “investments” Not much of a risk at all really

Exactly! Derby paid £10m for a defender In the Chanpionship this season, if he does well, they get promoted and we would rather get Demiral and buy Bennett then we will easily get £25m

Pleased he’s gone there, I think it’s nuts they’ve not got a Premier League side the size of the city! They’re very loyal to their manager, can’t see him staying if they fall off yet again though this season!
