Who do you want Summer 2020

There’s no way FT could cope with two overlapping Pereira’s. Crazy talk.

..doesn't tend to overlap though!!

He controls the tempo and runs the team.

Central midfield is a problem for us and we need someone who can control the game.

Cengiz Under is the wide right we need.

It seems unlikely that we will ever get Stengs for the middle of the park but failing that Benrahma is an option.

His stats are brilliant but he still looks too raw. One to keep an eye on in the next 12 months tho for sure

Maybe Brendan can bring out the rawness and firing for us looks a quality player but as you say needs a bit of nurturing, maybe this is the right club for him to progress?

Angel Gomes has got to be on our radar surely? Talk about the perfect back up to Maddison to hopefully juggle European and domestic football next season. He would easily get 15+ starts and a fair few sub appearances which would be enough to tempt a player like him rather than him risk going to another big club and barely getting any appearances. Compensation would be a few million maybe?

Feels like a better option than lallana.

Maybe talent wise, but this squad already has talent, maybe experience and winning mentality is more of a priority for our squad right now.

I think it all comes down to what Gomes’ wage expectations are, if it’s a relatively decent deal then fair enough but if he’s just leaving United to get a few extra £ then who knows?

Always odd when one of the highest rated talents at a club leaves - it’s not always as it seems.

Having said all that tho, I still think we should keep an eye on him - he’ll probs have half the league after him tho!

He turned down £25k a week because the club have not played him as much as other players. He tried to get a loan deal organised in January and the club refused unless he signed a new contract. Similar to George Hirst issue at Sheff Wednesday without the furore because United are massive and can afford to lose hot prospects.

All fair points.

Still two wingers, above all else. Barnes has done enough to persuade me he shouldn’t, yet, be a regular starter.

A CB.

An AM.

At least.

Might just be affordable you know.
Spend £40M max on a right-sided wide player as a starter. Sarr, possibly. Bailey, Thauvin, Benrahma?
Get a good second/third choice wide player to compete with him & Barnes. Could be free (eg Ryan Fraser, tho not convinced he’s good enough), could be a cute £10-15m signing, eg Mbeuomu?

AM - Lallana, experienced, free transfer.

CB - can’t see value in England. Need another Soyuncu for about £20m
