Pretty scandalous how BT were talking as if Chilwell is already a Chelsea player, even directly talking about how Lampard can coach him and improve him!

Really peed me off! Brendan is better than blooming Lampard. Stay Chilly, prove that you can become the best at "little Leicester!" 😡

Why does this always happen to us, score in the last minute only to throw it away in stoppage time! Happens time and time again, we need to score with the last kick for it to make a difference!

Always happens? I’d love to know the last few times we’ve scored in the last minute to then concede again, off the top of your head.

Were they interviewing Chilly when they said that?

Unsurprisingly, a slow start from both teams although Vardy looked sharp in first half. Watford's best chance apart from the goal was when we gave the ball away building from the back. Schmeichel had a good game with no chance for the goal. Not for the first time, Gray made a difference (in other threads it's been suggested we should sell but he is a terrific impact player) creating opportunities and it was his ball that led to Chilwell's brilliant strike. Chilwell looked poor defensively but going forward he was good.

Justin does look a good player, and it shows what value there can be in the lower leagues. It will be interesting to see how he does with an extended run whilst Pereira is out; I think it likely he will continue to improve even against more challenging opposition.

Probably a fair result - man of the match was Dawson who defensively was very good (although it's a pity he has a striker's ability for the goal!).

It was the fair result. Most teams have looked rusty, as you'd expect, and we were no exception - though it was good to see us making chances. I thought all five midfielder/wingers struggled to assert themselves, including Maddison. Gray came on and took the game to them, so let's hope that's not another false dawn on his part. Chilwell had a very iffy game, breathtaking strike aside. Vardy was far too isolated (though his work-rate / fitness looked good), and Rodgers could have acted more quickly to address that, but a point at Watford isn't necessarily a disaster.

Perez and Praet to start next game.

Also think we need to utilise Mendy off the bench more often. He has the ability to calm everything down and help our midfield control the game.

Pretty sure Mendy and Morgan would have been straight on after we scored, but had already used up our ability to make subs.

If Praet is fit id bring him in for Tielemans.

DG needs credit for the ball gets enough negative shit normally

He was very good all round. But still the majority of comments about him seem to be "yeah he was good, but he'll be shit next match" - he can't win.

Don't want to be all doom and gloom he was good for the half hour he was on the pitch but how many times has demari come on, made an impact then started the next game and looked like a lost little boy who just runs in to people? Really hope he comes good but de ja vu.

Maybe just enjoy the moment rather than worrying how shit he will be next time

maybe not playing in front of fans will make him excel with less pressure

That's because he's good coming on against a tiring back line where his physical attributes (speed specifically) make a huge difference. When he starts a game he hasn't got the guile to have the same sort of impact.

But with so many games to play, we will have to rotate the team heavily and he will have a massive part to play. As you say maybe it's better just to keep him as as our "on at 60 minutes" man. He can still be a key player even in that role.

Fair result really, although obviously disappointing to lose.

Interesting to see the impact that our subs had in the game and this could bode really well for the rest of the games. I think if we are in games or ahead our team has the depth to really challenge int he last ten minutes

Eh?

Watford definitely deserved at least a point tbf.

Too many worrying moments whilst passing it around at the back.

Looked off the pace, which is to be expected a bit, but Vardy isolated up front too much.

Well played Kasper, Justin and Gray.

Onwards to Tuesday 👍

Poor use of subs by Rodgers left him self with no options of be able to bring Morgan on late on when you know Watford are going to chuck it in the box.

All he had to do was bring on Hamza and Nacho at the same time under the new rule, 7 minute between the two subs could easily have came on at the same time.
