He seemed reluctant to do so against Watford. Neither Nacho or Gray will offer a ton of width. I think its not aimed at giving Justin freedom, its aimed at giving JM freedom. My guess would be he wants JM able to focus on creating rather than playing too deep. I must admit that my main observation from the watford game was that he was stuck in the wrong areas of the pitch, with vardy completely isolated. This could be a way to let him do his thing 5
Leeds Fox Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 I reckon it’ll be a 4-1-3-2 Mendy in between Gray and Maddison for the 3. Mendy could drop in with Ndidi should both Wing Backs be pushed on.
filbertway Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Not too upset with that line up. Obviously gonna be an emphasis on Chilly and JJ getting forward. Having Mendy and Ndidi will hopefully allow us to get more bodies forwards.

Love that Iheanacho is on from the start, he deserves the chance. Gray.....I'm not saying anything...jinx factor potential = high. Mendy...errrrr ok....must have bought the chance in training, so let's see. Read somewhere Mendy is really impressing Brendan more and more and he wants him to sign a new contract. 1
Tuna Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Not convinced by the lineup...we'll see. Come on Leicester!
Guest An Sionnach Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Chilwell covered by Mendy, so just need to give him a few clear chances from 25 yards out and Brighton are going down.👇👇
BecGriff9 Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 It’s ok, the clappers they sent us will get us through
Legend_in_blue Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Ndidi and Mendy? It's only Brighton. Too defensive.
Pliskin Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 I reckon they will do us tonight. Just to set the mood before we start.
teblin Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 My guess it allows the front 4 to press and stay further forever and mendy and nididi sit to allow that. 2

Scotch Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Looking at that lineup, a diamond maybe?.... Kasper JJ Evan's Cags Chilwell Mendy Ndidi Maddison Gray Nacho Vardy
trabuch Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 I can't help looking at Maddison slightly differently since the "Fit Leicester" thread
Blue and white Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Connolly starting for them, quite tenacious like Vardy IIRC. Always thought Maupay would have been a good alternative to Vardy too whilst he was at Brentford.
Hales Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 (edited) I see the line up as freedom for Madders, Brendan has also been vocal post Watford match about Chilly getting more goals. I think now he has lost the goal threat of Ricardo too he will push Ben forward. They also work well together down the left usually. There is help in defence to allow for that. Positive vibes! Foxes96 Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 (edited) Wondering if it’s a diamond like BR used in his Lpool days. Vardy - Nacho = Suarez - Sturridge with Gray/ Sterling with license to roam behind and then a midfield 3 of Maddison a bit deeper similar role to Coutinho. And then Ndidi and Mendy holding in a 4-3-1-2 formation. Saying that could be anything 4-2-2-2/ 4-2-3-1 with Nacho wide or Maddison wide who knows.. .. Who cares COYF Edited 23 June 2020 by Foxes96

Ted Maul Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Struggling to work out the system, but no major issues with it- we need to rotate with the amount of games coming up and Gray was our best player when he was on the pitch against Watford, completely changed the intensity of our play. Hopefully it also means we're taking the cup seriously.
StanSP Posted 23 June 2020 Posted 23 June 2020 Not bad. Like that we've gone 2 up top. I guess Gray deserves his start based on Saturday's performance. For the love of god and for his own benefit, please have a good game!! Can't be arsed with inconsistency again and again. Mendy will play it safe and is a good calm pick in midfield. Change of shape and hopefully we get at them from the off.
