We clearly can't, but finishing top 4 would go a long way in enabling us to bridge the gap and actually compete in this league. We don't know what was available in January, but we did nothing to bring any kind of depth in and it's cost us massively Let's not pretend we're a poor club. We've flexed our financial muscles on several occasions, not least on our way to the PL. Also, the income from CL football is rather secondary to the TV income from the PL. Yes, it would be a nice bonus, but it hasn't stopped us from competing for the top six since our title win, has it? 2
DJ Barry Hammond Posted 19 July 2020 Posted 19 July 2020 Hmmmm, think that passage of play shows the issue with have Nacho as our second striking option because I’m not quite sure what he gives us in terms of attacking threat when chasing a game. We had the ball in wide areas where at this stage, simply swinging a ball in is called for - but Nacho is not a striker for that option. He’s a little too similar to Vardy in style, without being anywhere near as good.

What do you think he's doing? The game won't matter if we get tonked by any more than this, taking Ndidi off rids us of most tackling ability in the middle. Less complaints about Praet though, especially as Tielemens doesn't always look fit. You'd think we would try to get a goal back, not sit on defeat of this margin, which feels inevitable bringing on a player like Mendy

Benji Posted 19 July 2020 Posted 19 July 2020 The reality is this defence is not stopping Martial, Rashford, Greenwood, Bruno and Pogba on the break. 1

With little creativity in the team there's little to do for Rodgers under the circumstances. Spurs have done well to stop the balls through to Vardy to run on to. Surely if we were that arsed we would take some risks? Maybe not though, I've seen us piss about with it like this when we're 1-0 down to be fair.
TJB-fox Posted 19 July 2020 Posted 19 July 2020 At least that An Sionnach guy can wank himself to sleep tonight knowing we’ve lost and Hirst has played 1
coolhandfox Posted 19 July 2020 Posted 19 July 2020 3rd choice leftback and 2nd choice rightback and 2nd choice CB, and people are surprised we are struggling! 3
Kasey Keller Posted 19 July 2020 Posted 19 July 2020 Best get ready for Thursday Sunday next season then....

RoboFox Posted 19 July 2020 Posted 19 July 2020 Next time you want to have a moan about Ricardo, Chilwell, Maddison, Soyuncu etc. just cast your mind back to this game and the state of this lot. 2

sdb Posted 19 July 2020 Posted 19 July 2020 3 Centre forwards, a winger, a DM and whatevwr the hell Praet is. How disjointed can you get? For the first time i'm wondering if Rodgers actually cares.
