Both Pennant's are very talented, Terel really shouldn't be playing in the U18's this season. Just turned 18 and started showing some glimpses of quality in the U23's last season and needs to be in there week in, week out. Kian is still only 15 so has a very good chance of keeping a few years ahead of his age groups.

Really pleasing to see the youngsters preparing as well as they can for life in the first team at a young age and playing with only one CB.

Zach Booth

Was wondering when he might feature. We are renown for signing academy players and not playing them for best part of a year like they did with Callum Hulme

Really looks like there's been or is a shake-up happening. We're seeing u23's pushed into first team opportunities and younger plays brought up the u23s.

City's Youngsters Beat Hull In EFL Trophy Opener
- Leicester City's Development Squad kick off the new Premier League 2 season away at Manchester United on Monday evening
- The fixture is scheduled to be a 7pm BST kick-off at Leigh Sports Village
- Midfielder Terell Pennant says the squad are in good shape going into the game
- Everyone has been working hard in pre-season, he adds

The Foxes finished second in the shortened 2019/20 Premier League 2 campaign, narrowly missing out on winning the league, which was awarded to leaders Chelsea.

Pennant, who has moved up from the Under-18s, playing 11 Premier League U18 games last season with a healthy return of seven goals and four assists, also got a taste of Development Squad football in the quarter-finals of the EFL Trophy.

The winger believes the team can take confidence from their performances last season and says everything has clicked in pre-season, despite a long period without football, due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

The winger scored seven goals in 11 league appearances for the Under-18s in 2019/20.

"It's going well everyone's been keeping fit," he commented, speaking to LCFC TV ahead of Monday's PL2 opener at Manchester United. "Everyone's doing well. We're just keeping fit.

"I think everyone's been doing bits at home, and then they came in and everyone was looking sharp. So, everyone just got on with it, and then got back to where we were from the start.

"People have been working hard. They kept going when things haven't been right for them."

The 17-year-old came off the bench in Tuesday's EFL Trophy win over Hull City, which was settled in injury time by George Hirst's composed penalty.

Pennant joined up with the Development Squad to play in the Premier League International Cup and EFL Trophy last season.

Pennant is aiming to continue his progression within the Development Squad and has ambitions of reaching the first team one day in the future.

"Finishing in the top half of the table, or trying to win Premier League 2, as well, [are our targets]," he added. "We just need to keep going and focus on winning this year, or trying to.

"Playing in the the first team at some point in the future would be my aim."

...you can see United nicking this!!!

We have just dropped off the pace and hitting the channels with balls down the line, only leads to the ball coming back putting us under pressure.

We need to lift the tempo at the restart.

I don't reckon anyone will go out on loan until the end of the window, we might need some for cover unless we get some signings in.

" It's going to be a younger side this year " absolute bollocks

Ndukwu and Johnson are 22 and Hughes is 23, surely we must be the only ones doing this year after year? I thought I read they’d have a new manager this season but Beagleholes still been doing the interviews
